I’ve had this KVM switch for about 3 1/2 years and it has been a solid piece of equipment, at work I’m on my second Belkin KVM switch in 3 years that is almost 3 times more expensive than this one. If you’re looking for a solid KVM switch with audio support that will be reliable and last for the long run this is the one for you. Just make sure that you don’t need USB support because you will be out of luck, if you need USB support buy the USB model just purchased it about 6mo ago and I’m completely satisfied with this product. I recommend this product 100%.Pros: Easy hotkey switching, small footprint, integrated cables w/ great lenght, fast switching, no additional power for use, you can use some industrial velcro and mounted anywhere you want, solid product.Cons: None in 3 1/2 years.

Setup of this cable is quick and easy. Worked flawlessly with WinXP after the “Add new hardware” dialogue searches the online Windows driver database. I can only assume that it would work as well with the included drivers. We’ve used these exact cables for years at work and the only downside other than cost is that they tend to break down after a few years of heavy use (stuffing them in laptop cases, getting them dirty, exposed to extreme temps, etc). Seems spendy, but they do work!Pros: Provides a quick and easy solution if you need an extra 9-pin serial portCons: Breaks down after a few years, cost (> $20)

This is a nice, compact unit. Beware if you own an IBM Thinkpad or Toshiba Tecra series laptop. Unfortunately for me, I own two Tecras and an IBM Thinkpad that I wanted to connect to the IOGear 4 port KVM. After making all the connections and reading the instruction manual, I found in the troubleshooting section, a sentence stating that the product didn’t work with these laprops and I would have to use the laptop’s keyboards when selected. This defeats the purpose of the unit. Other than that, it is (was) a very nice switch.Pros: Integrated cabling with audio. Size, price are reasonable.Cons: Lack of support 3 or the 4 PCs that I wanted to connect with the KVM.
