I got screwed. I waited in line for 10 hours to get the hyped iPhone, then Apple lowered the price a couple months later. Web browsing sucks.

I love my phone, but my advice would be to wait to see if Apple lowers the price later on this new one too.

There's no fee to "break" a current AT&T contract if you get a new iPhone - it simply extends your current contract an additional 2 years. I don't know who the "lot of folks" were, but they got bad information.

If you're on another carrier, then, yes, you'll need to find that out.

I was one of the early adopters that got screwed buying the first iPhone. I waited in line 10 hours to get one, only to find out there were plenty available. Then Apple lowered the price a couple months later and I got hosed again. Now there will be a 3G version (which they should have had in the first place) and I am screwed yet again. I love my phone, but dang does Apple throw you on the coals or what?
