i have own a life drive since they came out on the market
this pda still will compete with todays electronic gadgets

pros:
you can watch most video formats (when installing TCMP or KINOMA Player)
good mp3 player
good apps like calendar, contacts, write a notepad,
photo player,memos,voice recorder,clocks,games, wi-fi.
e-mail,e.t.c.
you can still buy or get free apps for this pda.
battery life expectancy is about 3 years (when new)
battery / screen & Memory are replaceable you need to know how.
go to youtube there are video instructions.
3.75 gigs of internal memory plus your sd memory card.
good strong pda housing.

cons:
just like any electronic device, if you install an incompatible app or software
this will trigger a constant reboot cycle.
pda is a bit bulky and heavy for it's size (Due to housing material)
screen is not very sensitive you must press hard sometimes.
reboot cycle is about 2 to 3 minutes (ONLY ON REBOOT)
TURNING THE DEVICE ON IS ONLY 2 TO 3 SECONDS.
the sync cable must be replace every 2 years depending on the use.
when on sync mode transfer rate varies depending how much stuff you
have in your pda.
also you can NOT watch 3gp or 3gpp videos. a format use on most cel phones.
internet browsing is basic and limited due to built in ram memory specs.
no more updates for this O/S is obsolete.

if you own a lifedrive you can still enjoy it for many years to come,
however i will not recommend this pda for someone who wants to own a pda today.
pda's are becoming obsoletes due to the fact they are integraded with smart phones
like the I-phone,blackberrys,and other cell phones.

Well finally i got mine. Just bought it on Sunday August 30,2009. Well i have to charged first cause only have very low power on the battery when i bought it.

After completely charge the next day i tried it is nice and i used my sd card from my previous pda palm tungsten it work and after testing my sd card with program or games.

Finally browser throught out the lifedrive menu and how to and what functions…..

Well i tested a game and played it for awhile for about 45 minutes and the battery bar didn’t take out any yet…….

Also testing the sample music it comes with the speaker seem loud but but the player volume when it reach the middle seem so low going below that can’t hear anything.

Also view the pic that comes with the graphic looks good every one of them……

The sample video is good to view is fast and sound good …

Well so i am a beginner for this one and i’m still going to explore more stuff on this lifedrive made by palm…

Well my first palm is palm zire 72 but the battery didn’t last for long when watching video clips maybe last for an hour but playing game lasted a bit long……the sound on this is not that loud……

Well my second one is palm tungsten which good doesn’t run out battery than palm zire 72 does when i played games it lasted a bit longer more than an hour…..but the sound on this is good loud and clear…….

Well before i bought palm life drive i used palm zire for this one is good for home only since the battery doesn’t last that long have to plug in most when watchin clips…….

Also for palm tungsten is good for home used..

For lifedrive is good for travel and home used cause the battery last long……

This is a good PDA. Takes too long to boot and start up. Rests frequently. Battery not replaceable.

Good 4GB drive for storage, and faster speed as compared to its previous models.

Why LifeDrive don´t format the SD Card 4 Gbt? Why palm don´t release a patch to turn it on?

I owned one for about 45 days. I had to send it back due to hard drive failure. This is not an uncommon issue. The Palm OS was not ready for this kind of Mobile Manager with a microdrive. The os initially was very buggy which lead to alot of resets hence the hardrive failures.I believe that Palm has released a bios update to solve some of the problems. The unit is a good all-in-one compromise. It had an excellent screen, large storage, good interface and a solid looking design.I believe that for a few extra dollars they could have made this unit one to remember. Palm installed a miniscule 32mb ram to operate programs from and swapped everything to the microdrive. with 64 or 128mb the swapping would have been reduced or eliminated. the battery consuption for more RAM would have been less than constaly swapping to the microdrive.all in all it was a good shot. however once the cards are on the table its hard to pull an ace to win the hand.

Don't believe the specs page...this PDA is not 6.5in deep! It's only 0.75in deep.As a PDA it's great. All the usual PIM apps encased in the beautifully simple PalmOS. All the connectivity you can think of (WiFi, Bluetooth, IR, USB, SD/SDIO card reader/writer) plus a 4Gb microdrive. This expand the practicality of the PDA into almost laptop areas....I use mine as a simple laptop...file storage, music player, photo and movie player, email / web, office docs...sounds like a laptop to me! Coupled with a foldaway keyboard, this thing is superb during business meetings or in conferences for note taking in Word, then go fo a coffee in Starbucks and listen to streaming radio while emailing your docs to the office using WiFi. Sweet.
