Hello everyone,
I upgraded from Handspring Visor Deluxe, so my major move was from monochrome to colour. Originally i was going to get Palm Tungsten W, but the idea of built in keyboard, minus phone capability, was very appealing. The PDA does exactly what i need it for, which is to run Franklin Covey planner software in glorious colour and i’m yet to explore the music, pics and Bluetooth capabilities. I only wish the screen was a bit bigger.

The most eye catching PDA on the market. Sony, it is worth it.

I have had the TG-50 for about three weeks now, and I think Sony has come very close to the perfect PDA. Here is a breakdown of my favorite features:
Speed is fantastic — no problems.
Screen is beautiful, but a bit smaller than usual (2mm).
Keyboard is practically useless except for the backspace and enter keys. I would much rather see the keyboard replaced with more screen. Take the screen of the NZ90 and boy howdy.
Stylus feels nice, no problems.
Size is just a tad larger than the older clies, and it feels very solid (not as light as the new Pocket PCs). But it fits in my pants pocket and the weight lets me know that it’s still there :)
Bluetooth is very cool, but I (and most others) have yet to get a USB Bluetooth dongle to let us cruise the web. But I have successfully synched the Clie over bluetooth from my living room to my computer on the other floor of the house.
IR control of electronics is cool, but most of my hardware is Harmon-Kardon and such, and is not supported. Need a learning feature!
MP3 playback sounds fantastic through my home stereo. Doesn’t draw much power, either. Unfortuneately there is no support for VBR (variable-bit rate) encoded MP3′s, which comprises my entire collection. No OGG support either.
Sony’s collection of applications is suberb. ‘Nuf said.
Battery life is phenomenal. For a 900ma battery this thing goes for weeks with regular use and most of a week with heavy use.
Overall I am very, very pleased with this little guy.
