A special launch edition of the 2012 Beetle was announced today by Volkswagen. The limited-run model is being called the “Black Turbo Launch Edition” by Volkswagen and will the first of the new Beetle models to hit dealerships. It will pack an inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine that pumps out 200 horsepower and 207-lb-ft of torque. Along with power, the Turbo edition features a surprising fuel economy rating of 30 mpg on the highway. The special launch edition can be pre-ordered now using Volkswagen’s new Vehicle Pre-Order (VPO) program that also launched today.
