Audi seems to be taking the Frankfurt Auto Show by storm this year with a fleet of concept cars and new production models making their debut at the annual German event. Part of that impressive line up is the new Audi A2 concept. Audi has only released bits and pieces of information regarding its features, but It sounds like the A2 was designed with functionality and flair in mind.

Under the hood, the Audi A2 runs on a 116-hp electric motor that is fed by a 31-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. Audi claims the A2’s battery can be fully recharged in four hours and states that the driving range of the A2 is 124 miles with a top speed of 93 mph.

As if the current fleet of Audi’s were not easy enough to spot with their sexy LED head and tail light accents, Audi is taking the lighting on the A2 to another level. Reportedly the “next step” in LED technology, matrix-beam advanced lighting will be featured heavily on the front, rear and side of the car. Add to that the ability to unlock the doors using hand gestures, integrated Bluetooth, wireless internet, and Google Earth navigation and you have one sweet ride.

First presented in 2019, the Audi Q4 E-Tron concept has nearly completed its transition to becoming a production model. It will join the full-size E-Tron and the recently introduced E-Tron GT sport sedan when it makes its full debut later in 2021.

Don't let the funky orange, black, and white livery trick your mind; It's camouflage applied specifically to keep the full exterior design hidden. We can nonetheless discern key elements like the lights, which stylists have tweaked over the past two or so years, and the proportions, which are unusual. First of all, the front end is a lot shorter than we're used to seeing. Audi was able to achieve this because an electric motor requires less space than a four-cylinder or a V6 engine.

Audi traveled to the 2018 edition of the Los Angeles auto show to introduce a head-turning concept called E-Tron GT. Shortly after the unveiling, we learned that the sedan would reach production without major changes, and the company kept its promise. Unveiled online, the electric 2022 E-Tron GT is just as striking as the concept.

On a secondary level, it brings full electrification to the Audi Sport range for the first time. It's proudly positioned as one of the division's flagship models, and it blazes the path that future sports cars will follow in the coming years.

Audi's plan to launch more than 20 electric cars globally by 2025 is definitely ambitious, but it's also realistic, and the models that will help it achieve its goal are gradually coming to light. One is a close-to-production concept named the Q4 Sportback E-Tron that's closely related to the Q4 E-Tron introduced at the 2019 edition of the Geneva Auto Show.

Normally, I would have been able to enjoy an in-person look at the Q4 Sportback E-Tron during an auto show -- but shows in Geneva, Detroit, New York, and even Paris were canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The unveiling took place online, which is the new norm, and Audi design boss Marc Lichte tuned in to digitally present the concept.
