We went hands on with the Nook Color, check out the pictures we shot of the new e-reader.
A year after the botched launch of Barnes & Noble’s first Nook, the largest book retailer in the United States has returned with a new Nook that adds a bit of color to the original. Sixteen million colors, to be exact. By swapping a color LCD for the E-Ink display on the original Nook, the Nook Color unleashes a literal rainbow of possibilities, but cuts its battery life to just eight hours as a result. A lack of 3G further separates it from the original, but with Android as an OS and a full seven-inch screen, it might be closer to a tablet than the dedicated e-reader we used to know. The Nook Color goes on sale November 19 for $249.
