Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition concept premieres in Paris

Perhaps trying to capitalize on the French capital’s association with fashion, Maserati chose the 2014 Paris Motor Show to unveil a new version of the Ghibli sedan influenced by luxury fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna.

The Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition is technically a concept, but there’s no reason why it couldn’t go into production and satiate fans of both Italian cars and Italian suits.

The two companies previously collaborated on the Quattroporte Zegna Limited Edition, a special version of Maserati’s larger sedan that went on sale last year.

Like that car, the Ghibli Zegna Edition concept features aesthetic tweaks meant to give it an exclusive flair, including special 20-inch alloy wheels and model-specific tri-layer exterior paint.

On the inside, the Ermenegildo Zegna Edition concept features leather and Zegna yarn trim, as well as some carbon fiber.

The car is based on the Ghibli S Q4, so it’s powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.

With 404 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque on tap, the S Q4 will do 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 175 mph.

Even if the Ermenegildo Zegna Edition doesn’t go into production, those specs make the standard Ghibli pretty darn impressive.
