Kia introduced its plug-in hybrid Ray concept car today at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. The new PHEV sports a unique aerodynamic design and innovative green technology. The Ray is made of recycled materials and features hexagonal roof-top solar cells embedded in the glass roof panel that power extra lighting or climate control systems, and a U-shaped rear to smooth out airflow. Kia says the Ray concept was inspired by and meant for modern, eco-minded and environmentally conscious consumers.

  7. Vincent Blanco at 11:43am 11th February 2010 Good for you Kia! You are showing the most innovation by incorporating solar cells in your concept car. An idea that I've been talking about for years. As solar cell efficiencies increase, the range of your concept car shoulkd increase as well especially if the car is parked in a sun-lit area!
