A Pop-Up Shade for Your Digital Camera
California-based company says new line of digital camera LCD screen protectors are mated specifically for various models and will also offer glare protection.
A scratch on your digital camera’s LCD screen can be annoying and potentially make it more difficult to use. Delkin Devices, a company out of Poway, California, thinks they may have the answer to protecting the camera screen. Enter their eFilm Pop-Up Shades.
The eFilm Pop-Up Shades, which Delkin said currently cover 11 of the most popular digital SLR and point and shoot cameras, are made from hard impact plastic and snap shut over the camera’s LCD screen. Each of the current models, plus ones being introduced over the next eight weeks and in the near future, will be mated to specific models of cameras to provide what the company feels is an ideal fit as opposed to more universal LCD screen protectors from competitors.
The eFilm Pop-Up Shades will also double as glare guards, according to a Delkin press release, by popping up to form a three sided canopy over the LCD.
We’re very excited to bring these simple but indispensable products to the digital camera market,†said Delkin Devices President and CEO Martin J. Wood. “It seems we all know someone who purchased a digital point and shoot camera, and in a matter of days found the LCD had cracked. Even if you’re careful, it can happen in your camera bag or purse. Most camera or chain stores report the manufacturer will not cover the cost under the warranty. When you hear a repair estimate close to what you paid for the camera, you end up throwing your expensive camera away.”
