BenQ's new DC X735 camera sports a 7 megapixel resolution, high ISO sensitivity, face tracking, and a slim profile.

Taiwan’s BenQ has been upgrading its digital camera line, today announcing its DC X735 digital camera, featuring a 2.5-inch LCD, 7.2 megapixel resolution, face tracking, and high ISO sensitivity—all packed into a slim 14.7 mm-thick frame (12.5 mm at its thinnest).

The X735 replaced the X725 in BenQ’s lineup, which the company only recently debuted in June of this year. The new model features a 3× optical zoom, USB 2.0 connectivity, PictBridge compatibility, an an NTSC/PAL audio/video output for showing images or video on a television screen. The X735 also features BenQ’s Super Shake Free system designed to reduce blurring and due to camera motion, and features ISO 2,000 sensitivity (with a high setting of ISO 6,400) for taking images in low-light conditions. Users can also use the X735 to record VGA resolution MPEG4 video at 30 frames per second in either traditional or widescreen 16:9 format. The camera has 16 MB of built-in memory, but primarily stores images to SD cards.

BenQ hasn’t announced any pricing on the X735, but says the unit should be available (in red or black) in the Asia Pacific region, Europe, and Latin America shortly.
