Ryan Stone: It depends on the project and its possible returns. Risking your camera can some times bring very special images and if it is worth the price of the camera, why not?
But of course without the proper insurrance coverage or the company background to support the experiment I wouldn't risk my gear myself.

Lens :- $2000
256MB Sandisk flash card:- $100
Bridge demolition:- $120,000

Getting the picture of a lifetime from the (now destroyed) camera thanks to Sandisk:- Priceless.

I wonder how “philosophical” his friend is about the loss, since he lost his borrowed camera as well. I hope that he can at least sell some of those photos to make some money back….maybe sandisk will hire him or something.
