While specs leaked last week for the new Canon's new G1 X, the camera maker has officially announced its new powerful and versatile Powershot G1 X at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.

Canon has announced the latest iteration in its PowerShot series with the G1 X. The latest offering from Canon features a new 1.5 inch, 14.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, and will feature a 4x optical zoom.

Canons touts that its latest G1 X features the largest sensor to date for a Canon point-and-shoot and will offer photography enthusiasts the highest image quality while keeping its design comfortable and versatile.
