Premiere quality at an affordable price, Samsung unveiled its F80 camcorder today with integrated Wi-Fi -- letting you upload your pics straight to the web with ease.

The final entry in Samsung’s bevy of new camcorders, the F80 is a family friendly model which, according to Samsung offers upgraded image quality in an affordable, yet stylish, package.

Some of the features housed in the F80 include 52x optical zoom, and 65x intelli-zoom, which Samsung states “brings users closer to the action.” In addition to the zoom capabilities, the F80 also allows for 1280 x 720 30p recording and vivid video capturing in a clear and bright detail on the devices 1/3.2-inch 5 megapixel CMOS Sensor as well as 1080i video upscaling via the integrated HDMI. The F80 even lets you add custom soundtracks thanks to camcorders Smart Background Music II feature.

Again, in keeping with the slate of new SMART cameras, the Samsung F80 offers Wi-Fi capabilities that allow you to upload and share your content straight to the web.

If the implementation of all this new technology has you excited, you’re not alone. It appears Samsung is pretty jazzed about its new camcorders too — and feels strongly with what the latest iterations have to offer. According to Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics Myoung Sup Han, “Our latest camcorder line-up is our strongest yet, offering the perfect camcorder for every lifestyle and budget.”

  2. tytheteacher at 6:24pm 10th January 2012 2 questions: 1) The article says affordable, but there is no price. What counts as affordable? I'm not sure if that came out snarky, but it is meant to be totally snark free. 2) Any speculation on how long it would take to upload a video based on an average WiFi hotspot? I'll give an example in order to stop speculation. Let's say I've just recorded a 3 minute YouTube worthy video. I go to the nearest coffee shop (probably a Starbucks), buy a coffee and start my upload. How long am I waiting? Once again, see above, totally intended to be snark free.I think this technology is great for the normal, picture taking camera, but are these really designed to upload videos efficiently. Also, if there is an article I missed that covers all this, please just slap the link on here and I'll apologize for wasting everyone's time. Thanks for the write up and pics Amir.
    1. tytheteacher at 7:25pm 10th January 2012 Just talked to a buddy about this. Turns out I'm uninformed about where a video would actually be uploaded to. I just remember other cameras that used to have the YouTube button. Also, just found the article with details on all of Samsung's cameras. So I guess the whole thing is moot.
