&lt;br /&gt;Point and shoots, to me, are for people who don&#039;t want to mess around with settings, lenses, etc.  Just point and shoot.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;If you want something convenient, to carry around and use all the time, a high megapixel point and shoot is for you.  But be prepared to crop and edit the photos once you upload them to your computer.

&lt;br /&gt;If you plan on taking artistic or action photos, and from a distance, you want a DSLR. But you need to take time with each shot.&lt;/p&gt;
