After years of flips, drops, skinned knees, and a broken bone or two, this year you finally achieved that Tony Hawk signature trick you have been attempting since watching the 1999 X-Games. Too bad there was nobody there to witness it. Next time, record the action from your point-of-view with an action camera like the XS20 from Polaroid ($100).
Snap this small cam onto your helmet or strap it to your arm or leg, and then start recording those daredevil moves in high-definition 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. At less than 3 ounces, the weight won’t bog you down (it only looks big in the photo). The 5-megapixel camera takes still photos, too, and a waterproof housing means you can take it into the water or down the slopes. It has a 120-degree viewing angle, and the built-in battery allows for up to 3 hours of recording. The eight LED lights lets you keep filming even after the sun sets. Not into thrills? Use the XS20 as a security camera. It starts recording automatically when it detects motion.
You’ll need one of these cams if you want to start posting videos of your stunts to YouTube, and we have one waiting for one lucky winner. To enter, simply tell us an upcoming adventure that you would love to use this camera for (keep it clean, folks). Submit your answer in the comments before this contest ends in just one week on December 23.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another chance to win a great product.
I’m starting my training in the Australian Army next year in January, something like this would be pretty incredible to film the next chapter of my life with!
I never win anything but I’ll give it a shot anyway. I would use it to film the family events including in the water here in Florida.
Pretty much everything I do is an adventure that should be caught on camera. When I run up the stairs it’s like an action movie. When I wrestle with my child, I always win. My heavenly dance moves have been cited as proof there is life after death. My water cooler conversations are think tanks and my prayers often bring peace to war-torn areas of the world. If you combine NCIS, Die Hard, Usual Suspects, Dead Poets Society and Dora the Explorer, then you get my life….. and the only reason it’s not being recorded is because I couldn’t find a camera I could attach to my head. Maybe it’s time to solve that… Maybe it’s time for Digital Trends and Polaroid to make this world a better place.
My wife and I are expecting our first child in June. I cannot imagine a better adventure than following the little tike around with this camera, capturing every time something is broken, spilled, torn or urinated on. Maybe my wife will even let me strap it to the kid’s head for some first-person toddler viewing action!
Take it back with me to the marines camp, so I can record our training. If its waterproof, we can submerge it and take great shots.
My big adventure will be upgrading to using my walking stick instead of this dratted walker I’m stuck with right now and putting the thing away in a closet!
As the father of teenagers who dream of the “Dew Tour”, I can envision them flooding YouTube with countless hours of filmed antics. But I really can’t think of a better use than that of Ryan Wood. Hell, who knew Australia even had an army. I’m just joking. In all seriousness, best wishes. Good luck!
I will be going snowboarding this winter. Hopefully right after Christmas at Crystal Lake Ski Resort!!! Thank you DT for such a great giveaway! :)
Driving my new Veloster that I hope to get soon!
If I had one, I would use this when we go to Florida and scuba-dive in the coral reef!
I’d strap it to my little dog and let her just run around. Or strap it to our friends toddler and see what the world looks like from his prospective.

This would be awesome to figure out who’s stealing stuff from our christmas bags at work!
Skiing at Mammoth.
I like going around Ohio into the caverns and caves. I would love to record a video of me going 700 ft underground without having to hold the stupid camera.
I just got better health insurance, which means I’ll be riding mountain bike harder than ever before! A little video action would certainly benefit with the picking up of babes.
I’m going up north next spring to do my first mountainbike ride in the forest. It’d be sweet to have this camera to catch all of the action.
My 3 kids are all very active and this would be great for them and all of their sports!

Oh this camera would capture those breaktaking moments on the motorcyle. Reliving the scraping of the pegs on the twisty curves of the mountains, the sounds of the woods and the “moments” you never want to forget. This is a must on our next motorcycle trip to the mountains.
Oh this camera would capture those breathtaking moments on the motorcyle trip planned for next year. Reliving the scraping pegs on the curves, the sounds, the beautiful scenery in the Smoky Mountains! This is a must for the trip planned next year.
Snowboarding helmet cam, Crystal & Stevens Pass, I can hear you calling my name.
I’m planning a trip japan and would love to film my time there with this.
It be great to have for my boxer pup to catch those goofy moments, running, and hopping.
I just got my daughter a surfboard for Christmas. I would use it to shoot video of her learning to surf and riding her first wave. That would be a great keepsake for her – and me.
Well, since I’ll be flying over Europe on new year’s eve, I think it could be quite remarkable recording the fireworks and the partying on new year from above… :)
Pulling that one prank on my roommate that involves duct tape, fishing line, and lots of plastic wrap.
gimme
My husband would use it on his mountain bike. And I’d try the motion sensor thing to see if I could get pics at the bird feeder and/or of critters that come around the porch at night or around dawn – we live in the boonies, gets interesting (I could take video of my sewing – lol)
I could use this for a nighttime Bike ride next June!

Is that an action camera or a security camera?
I could use it for my whitewater canoeing adventures!
I would love to have it for my canoeing adventures, especially shooting shoals!

I would strap it to a helmet during a dodge ball tournament between our staff and students at my middle school. Would have to get the recording approved by school district but imagine the intensity of the video. With dodge ball zipping by the camera.
IS There a bike mount?
Here in Montana, we’d use it on our bikes, kayaks, ziplines, ski boats, downhill skiing, bicycles, backpacks, hunting rifles, and the dashboard of my 4×4!
I’d love to use this camera when I get back on my snowboard for the first time in years due to injury. I’ll be in Breckenridge in February. I’d love to capture the moment. I’ll enjoy every minute of it either way but it’d be nice to share the soon-to-be memory!
