I have one of these too and it does that also. What does HP say to do.

I have a R707 and am on the 2nd HP rechargable battery and like the original battery it has swollen inside the camera to the point that it won't release without prying it out with a small screwdriver and longnose plier. I'll be talking with HP tomorrow. It seems like the charging current too high although the firmware may fix it.

I think I'll stay completely away from an HP camera. It's like going to McDonalds and ordering a taco. It doesnt make sense. They should stick to printers.

I have one of these. This is dumb, it uses a lithium-ion rechargable battery. It's not even the same shape as a standard AA or whatever. It's like a cellphone battery. Who would buy a replacement non-rechargeable battery for this thing.

Wow, that is scary! Looks like someone didnt do their proper testing! I'm surprised there arent more reports of batteries melting/causing fires then just one report. Do they come with rechargeable batteries?
