I would assume the cardboard covers the entire back but your theory could be correct. Either way, the camera probably wouldn't last more than 100 or so photos.

:-) why thanks! Er, hey, I hate to nitpick – but wouldn’t the fact that the batteries are openly exposed suggest that they are intended to be replaceable? Presumably behind that cardboard exterior is some kind of plastic frame, albeit probably a flimsy one. Really being a smartass now aren’t I? ;)

Are you absolutely sure? That circle looks like the shutter release to me while the square cutout above the lens looks like a viewfinder.

See the circle on the right side? You hold that to charge the flash like disposable Kodak cams. The flash is above the lens in the middle (though the angle doesn't make it clear).

These would be a nice replacement for the disposable cameras I see at wedding events where they put a camera on every table.
