Nikon gave us a hands-on look at the D4 today, and we’re reveling in its speed and bumped up video capabilities. We already knew the latest full-frame DSLR from Nikon would be fast–shooting 10fps using AF or 11fps when AF is locked. But actually getting your hands on it is something else entirely.
For starters, the D4’s body has been streamlined and smoothed out a bit from Nikon’s past DSLR iterations. It’s got a nicer feel to it, and the back of the camera’s new dual joystick design makes navigation quick and intuitive. These are just subtle tweaks to aesthetics though, and the real upgrades are built into video capture, port design, fast 51-point AF system, and of course the D4’s introduction of XQD card compatibility. Take a look.
