WWE Superstar John Cena just walked away from the weekend’s Money in the Bank 2014 showdown as the new World Heavyweight Champion, and the milestone is perfectly timed with 2K Games’ confirmation that his mug will grace the cover of WWE 2K15. This year’s game is the second Yukes effort for 2K. The developer previously worked on the WWE games for THQ, but the rights went to auction when the publisher dissolved in 2013. WWE 2K15 is the first in the series to come to the latest Microsoft and Sony consoles; it’ll be available for both PlayStation and Xbox machines when it arrives on October 28.
“It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as the WWE 2K15 cover Superstar,” said Cena in a prepared statement. “2K has a tremendous history of sports simulation games and cover athletes, including Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and of course, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. I look forward to carrying the flag for WWE 2K15 and introducing the incredible next-generation of WWE gaming to the WWE Universe.”
