Sony and SCE San Diego’s MLB 14: The Show is available now for both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, but those saving themselves for the PlayStation 4 version are going to have to wait until May 6. In the meantime, Sony has released a new video showing off the game running on the PS4.
The video focuses on the people and fields more than the gameplay, so if you’re looking for a rundown on how The Show plays, check out our review. If you are curious what a next-gen Miguel Cabrera going deep at Comerica Park looks like, however, then you are in luck. If you look closely, you can even see the next-gen anguish coming off the Texas Rangers.
There’s also a quick, detailed look at the crowds. Unlike many sports game where the crowds are typically made up of a handful of models that are just duplicated and given a range of animations, the crowd detail in MLB 14: The Show on the PS4 is impressive (check out the image on the right for a closer look). You’ll still see the odd repeating models, but you’ll have to look hard for them.
