I dunno about the IMP 400, But I bought an IMP 350 SlimX which should be the same thing but a bit bigger and it skips constantly, even with the max value buffer, I can’t walk or travel with it, the only place I can use it is on my desk, as soon as I move it, it skips.

Sometimes, it takes almost 5 minutes to load the songs.

I dunno if these are usual for all CD mp3 players, but I think that the slimX is really not worth buying and needs that the guys at iRiver should really make some more research to improve it.

I can’t say enough in praise for the iRiver iMP 400. It has performed flawlessly, and has so many features that are actually useful instead of the useless bells and whistles I have encountered on other players. I use it while jogging, and have never heard it skip even once. Kudos to iRiver!!

I have been using the iMP-400 for the last 4 days and it is magnificent, no skips, superb sound, and excellent handling. The newest firmware version 1.30 include to more User Eq which would be very useful for many. It also comes with a game called snakebyte. How many CD players out there even have a game? This product is top notch without any exceptions.
