I used to have two 12 inch type R’s and they sounded amazing, but I blew them. Then I got the less expensive version, the Type E’s, and I was equally satisfied. They sound great in the right box, and you won’t have to fork out a bunch of cash.

I had two 12″ MTX thunders on my 600watt amp and decided to replace them with something smaller to gain some trunk space. i went with a single 12″ Type E and the bass is better than ever! the single type E sounds cleaner and hits harder than both of my MTX’s and is better than the two 12″ Duals i used to have in a bandpass box.

If your looking for some earthquake, block shattering bass, you need to be looking at competition subs, but if your looking for some good clean bass to enhance your tunes, I Would recommend the Alpine Type E.

i have 2 of these and let me tell ya they exceeded my expectations of them. but still this is not the type of bass that is heard or felt from blocks away or even feet away from your car. it makes you shake in your seat and it has very good sound quality but it doesnt leave you gasping for air like true HARD HITTING subs.

I got two alpine type e subwoofers to replace my c4 subwoofers. these alpines are a much cleaner bass and hit very hard. I have two swe subs that are hooked up to a alpine v12 amp which is awsome this setup sounds great in my 1992 acura integra which has perfect air space.

these are the hardest hitting, and cleanest bass subs you can get for the money. i have 4, 12” alpine type e subs in my 97′ Dakota, and they have ear shattering bass. when hooked up with an AudioBahn A8002T they will make your ears blead, i gaurantee it!
