Summary

The eMac, Apple’s affordable PowerPC G4-based system, comes complete with a 17″ flat CRT display and a space-saving, all-in-one design that fits right in your home. It’s configured with an 800MHz G4 processor, a 256KB on-chip L2 cache, a 40GB ATA/100 hard drive and 128MB PC133 SDRAM (expandable to 1GB). In addition to the 133MHz bus speed, the eMac features a 32X (max. speed) CD-ROM drive, as well as two FireWire ports and three USB ports (plus two more on the keyboard). For your communications needs, it includes a 56K V.92 modem, 10/100BaseTX Ethernet and a slot for an optional AirPort wireless networking card. The 17″ (16″ viewable) flat CRT supports resolutions up to 1280 x 960 at a 72Hz refresh rate – nearly 40% more viewing area than a 15″ CRT at 1024 x 768. The ATI Radeon 7500 graphics use 32MB DDR SDRAM to deliver crisp visuals and smooth video. Meanwhile, the integrated high-performance digital audio system includes an internal 16W digital amplifier, stereo speakers built right into the main unit and a built-in microphone. The eMac comes with the Apple Pro Keyboard and the optical Apple Pro Mouse.
