the iPod nano is awesome. Great sound quality, display and battery life. The only problem i’ve had is that it has frozen a couple times so I reset it and its fine. Must have

I have had my nano for a couple of months now – at first I had my doubts, but mostly because of iTunes, have had lots of problems with that.. Either way, I was and still am very impressed by the little unit, i have a white one, but I don’t know why everyone gets all upset about the scratches, just buy a case! I like the size and capacity .. Can’t find any other that compares.

They break too easily. Whatever you do, don’t get an iPod or any Apple product. Apple has their place in hell reserved.

i got my nano almost a year ago now(4 gb, black). On picking up the box i thought, this must be empty. I didnt think it would be that tiny! I was also the first person at my school to have one and everyone loved it. iv filled it now, but whenever i want to put more stuff on its easy to delete old files with itunes( i dont get what people have against it)The only problem iv had is the enormous scratch on the screen(it didnt come with a cover like the video does) which i got withing about a week. the hold button has also stuck on twice when charging, however i checked some forums and found a way to fix that no problem. all and all, i love it!

I totally dissagree with you bob. I to pluged it in to the hub and the click wheel didn,t work but if we read the instructions it says not to plug it into the hube untill iTunes is installed on the computer. Anyway I LOVE IT. Its a LOT smaller than i expected. I loved the sharp display and extra sensitive click wheel. Also a great price compared to other mp3 players! By the way i purchased a black 4gig one. P.S. don’t wine about the easily scratched surface and buy a cover!

this is a rather beautiful, funtional and tough little player, but folks, if you are not ready to wait until apple releases later gens of nanos and clears up the problems, buy some housing/casing/protection for your poor player. These ‘pods have very scratchable screens and casings – watch out! the best way to protect the player is to buy a set of (fashionable!) ipod socks or (cheaper) Mocks (actually for mobile phones). Failing this, at least purchase some Tubes or something to protect the player. This isn’t just for aesthetic reasons – photos cannot be viewed properly if the screen is even slightly scratched :(.

just seeing your ipod nano for the first time is a beautiful experience. the slim, beautiful, trademark apple ipod design is flawless with the exception of the whole fingerprint thing. the player is great. all the features of the other ‘pods plus some with less songs than all but the shuffle. great for sport and working out or just about any activity you can imagine. you seriously have to see this pod to believe it – the thing is really really nano (small) and stylish. this little flash player will earn instant street cred for the owner :) BUY IT!

i bought a black Ipod nano played with it for a few days then put in in iSock on my desk. tried to turn it on 5 days later and it wouldnt.
the scroll wheel didn’t work and nothing happened when i connected it to usb. my advice is stay away from the ipod nano first generation wait for the second or third gen when the’ve fixed everything

I purchased the ipod black 4gb on a recent trip to the USA, very difficult to find but worth the wait. The only disappointment is that Apple did not make the earphones in a contrasting colour i.e. black for black, white for white etc….. The deletion of songs could have been made easier! Connecting to the computer via the USB and deleting that way is rather annoying. Overall great and a great $265 (including tax).

When I first bought the nano 3 days ago, I hoped and prayed it didn’t have the easy-break screen that less than 1% of the nanos had. Luckily, it didn’t. I only touch my nano with gloves, to prevent fingerprints and scratches while waiting for the Nanotubes to arrive in 3 weeks. Its durable, I already dropped it on my coffee table and it didn’t even get a scratch on the metal casing! Just wiped it off and starting to play it again! The screen is very suseptable to scratches though, I used plastic wrap on mine, so there are only a few scratches to date. I reccomend people to buy the 4GB flash player

Apple Outdoes Themselves Once Again

I got the last apple ipod nano 4gb in the entire state of Georgia! I can honestly say that this thing is a godsend. I LOVE IT! My only complaint is the battery life tends to be about 9-11 hours for me because I listen to my music higher than 50%. Other than the battery life, I LOVE IT. Best $250 I have ever spent!

The nano is not the first player to break the 1GB threshold. Some of the first mp3 players were flash players and they could play 1GB cards if you had the money to buy them. Not impressed.

Mine's scratched like crazy

I got my ipod nano 4GB Black less than 24 hours ago. I’ve brought it out of the house 1 time and played it through my car stereo. And this morning, it was just so scratched looking. They aren’t deep scratches–they are very superficial. It’s so delicate that even around where the wheel is there are circular scratches which suggests even fingers can scratch it. I tried wiping with a microfiber cloth and I think it scratched it as well. If I could do it again, I might get the white model. Other than that I like it so far.

Tiny & Slick

I have the 4GB Nano in black. I bought it the first day it was released. I previously owned a 2nd generation 20 GB iPod that my ex-wife ended up taking. I was holding out for the 60 GB photo, but this one was too cool to pass up. The 4 GB doesn’t take long to fill up. As long as you don’t put this iPod in your pocket with things that can scratch it or use an abrasive cloth to wipe it, it doesn’t scratch too easily. Fingerprints are another issue, but they’ll wipe away with a soft, damp cloth. The black is way cool and worth the extra cleaning effort!

Covered with Scratches

OH MY GOD! Did anyone even look at the IPod Mini before designing the Nano? I have the Black unit that I received in the mail Friday. This morning it looks like Hell. Scraches everywhere you look, Front, Back. I was planning on showing everyone at work, butnow I don’t even want anyone I work with to even know I have one. I work as a Six Sigma Black Belt for larger manufacturer and this is just slap in the face to customers to let this happen. My mini is about a year and a half old and is like to condition with no scratches at all. I use it every day in my workouts and at home. I have done some Internet Searching and word is spreading fast about this problem. As I’m typing this one of my coworkers laughed at the site of my Nano.
Thanks for the problem.

The Mini done right
By: Dave
September 9, 2005 @ 4:51 PM34ppm9>
I bought my first iPod when the Gen 3’s were released and I was hooked instantly. Because of my experience with iPod’s, dozens of my friends have bought an iPod of some sort and i’ve had a hands on experience of virtually every iPod released since my Gen 3 came out.
So let me say this – the iPod nano blew me away. The size is what’s truly compelling here. The black in particular looks amazing, and the thinness of it makes it almost not look real. I just picked mine up this morning, and as I walked into work more than a few people asked me “is that an iPod?”, followed up by “I wish I didn’t buy my mini __ months ago”. Believe me when I say this iPod is going to sell a ridiculous amount of iPod’s for Apple before the end of the year is out. As far as 4 GB vs. 6 GB vs. 20-60 GB goes, it’s ultimately a non factor. I don’t use my iPod to store all of my music because Apple doesn’t make an iPod that big yet (i’ll have to wait til they get past 120 GB), and I certainly am not away from my computer for such a long period of time that I need to have 5000 songs with me.
