NOT to replace a laptop
By: David
October 29, 2008 @ 1:11 PM33ppm10>
Come on people. If you’re expecting a $400 dollar system to have a 40GB hard drive you need to get real. This is just a simple machine for putzing around on the internet for whatever reason, not something that will replace a genuine laptop. If you want something a little better than your cell phone offers for checking your e-mail, browsing the web, etc., then go for this. You’ll not be disappointed, but don’t expect it to perform miracles.

Great to take everywhere

People who complain about how small this computer is, how it lacks storage, etc, etc, are missing the point. The computer is INTENDED to be small and simple, a light device you can take everywhere to browse the Web, read your e-mail and write small texts. It is not intended to be your only computer or even your only notebook. Your spine will thank you after you carry this for a whole day, as opposed to carrying your normal notebook!
It is more powerfull than it seems.

I’ve been using this notebook for half a year now, and it’s been very helpful for me. very handy, all features ready and aesthetically beautiful. if you want to be unique, be with Linux, so no need to convert in MS XP.
to those who’s condemning the storage capacity, common, you can never have it all. if you want want bigger capacity then bring your desktop along with you all the time. lol! ^_^
and lastly, the price is soo reasonable. whatelse can you ask for?
cHEers!

I’m not planning to buy this notebook unless ASUS Company will put at least 40GB HD as a stock on every unit on the same price. ASUS wake-up! your notebook is as good as brickgame.

Summary what?

I haven’t got any ASUS eeePC and can’t afford to buy a new one, but I think that the biggest disadvantage of this portable laptop is the storage capacity. To me, 8GB is still too small to store music, games, and documents. I would rather spend a bit more money to buy a “real” laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 160GB Hard disk storage, 1GB of RAM and 14 inches screen. In conclusion, this eeePC can not satisfy my needs!

ASUS 8G so cool and fast!

I got Asus eeePC 8G last week; after testing overall, I’m so impressive and satisfied with this small portable pc. Equipped with 1 GB DDR2 memory, every application run very well (about 5-10 seconds). Although the storage capacity only reaches 8 GB, I’m trying to install it with other OS (XP SP2). I’m sure this is enough for me, who need only for office, multimedia, email, etc. In addition, the device Wi-Fi also runs so good and fast.
