Crappy Support/Lousy Software

Got a good deal on this and now I know why! Video works but that is about it. MMC is a joke. ATI scheduler is a problem, can’t record anything with it. It just ignores it. DVD player caused blue screens. Reinstalled and now it just gives some generic memory errors. Gemstar Guide Plus is only good for seeing what is on, try to record using it and nothing happens.
Support? What support! I send them a trouble ticket (4 total) and I get some canned response every time. Try this, try that. They tell me that it’s a configuration error with my system.
Never again will I buy an ATI product.

problems with software bundle

With A LOT of work, I was finally able to get both sound and video from my pc to my tv through my vcr.
I have not been able to get mmc to properly install, however. 8.9 installation aborts, and most attempts with 8.8 result in launchpad saying mmc isn’t installed.
If launchpad docks, none of the icons do anything, except Gemstar and libraries. No tv wizard, file player, etc.
ATImmc.exe comes in at 433k; is that the right size?
ATI has been unable to help, so far.

The remote wasn’t as good as I thought it would be, it can still improve. Gaming wise, I’m not complaining too much, although it can be a bit more juiced up.
I’m not sure it aiw 9800 is just for 30 bucks more, if it was, oh man I’m pissed.
Anyways, highly recommend this to anyone who wants an all-round decent card.
