Extremely comfortable, great sound
By: Alexey Lyashenko

I bought these headphones 4 years ago after my Sennheiser HD212 got broken. The overall impression they are great headphones, though, the price could be a little lower. First thing to mark out is that they are extremely comfortable. Often I wear them all day long while sitting near my computer at work, but I just don’t feel them on my head. Also the sound is quite pleasant and one can listen to music for hours and hours without getting tired, if equalizer is properly ajusted. the latter is very important not to get disappointed with the sound. Also, a good sound card is a must in order to discover what these headphons are capabile of. I plug them into my Audigy 2 (not the best sound card, though) and these headphones just rock. About durability. They are quite durable overall, but once needed to be fixed with super-glue (there was a problem with padding around the speakers). To conclude, these are great headphones, but not durable enough for such a high price. Anyway, the sound quality worth it.

Fantastic!

I bought these, mainly for use as monitor headphones for my music composition. They produce a detailed, exquisite sound- not heavy, or overpowering, more like delicate, ambient, and crisp. When I plugged them into my digital piano, I was blown away by the exapnsiveness of the sound- i paid $82.00, and I believe they are worth every penny.

Light and comfortable, Sound quality "Fair"
By: availlyrics

Sound quality is just “Fair”, the headphone is sensitive at low volumes. Comfortable to wear. Bose should work on the interface materials used, the cushion gave away within 2 yrs of moderate use and plastic material used is too brittle. Not recommended for the price in $120+ range buyers should consider other options.

More than worth the money

Don’t listen to the cons about low bass quality or lack of durability.
The best sound I’ve ever heard -granted I’ve never listened to music through a top of the line home theatre system- was through my Bose tri-port headphones.
And about the durability? These headphones lasted me five years before they started giving out, and that was only because I stepped on them accidentally.
Most headphones between twenty and forty dollars never lasted me six months before the sound quality degraded. In the end, buying a pair of Bose headphones is actually cheaper than buying mid-range headphones… that is if you, like me, listen to music through them on a daily basis.

Best headphones I've used
By: Jay Canetta

I own a pair of the Bost Quiet Comfort II headphones, which of course have great noise-cancelling quality, but I’ve always felt they lack full bass and mid-tones. The on-ear Bose TriPort headphones have a bass response that is full but not boomy – you can actually hear the tone of the bass strings. The mid-tones are excellent, and the high tones are crisp without being tinny. I would recommend these to anyone who takes music seriously.

These headphones are very good. Yes the price makes us unhappy. But I think the bass is pretty good, and its really good if you pout it on bass booster with your ipod. They work better with a large power source such as a computer. My real concern is how thin the head band and cords. I fell like they will fall right off.

Great all around headphones
By: Audiophilos
May 18, 2007 @ 10:13 AM53pam5>
The very first time i put these headphones on I was blown away by their lightweight nature. Above all this, the sudden sense of comfort you feel around your ears, given the fact that these are "on ear" headphones and not "in ear" ones, it really feels just right. I also believe the distance the headphones have from your ear allow better sounds to be produced and resonate into your ears.
Comfort – 5/5
Sound – 4.5/5 (lacks a bit in the bass area if you really like deep and pounding bass)
The price has alos dropped on these headphones in the last couple months, so it’s even more worth it to buy it!

These headphones fit great around the ear and produce a clean, crisp sound
keeps a lot of outside noise to a minimum
I am actually right now listening to Rhapsody Blue and the quality is great
and I was so happy when I received the headphones from my mom, who admitted to the price.
Really good, and if you take care of them, you will enjoy all your music.
Can’t wait to listen to some YES and Siberian Khatru

Pricey yet excellent performance
By: Edgar

I have to admit that I am a Bose fan so this maybe slightly biased. I tried various headphones in the above-100 dollar family range but found the Triport the best balance in performance and comfort. Because human hearing is so unique, sound performance reviews could be rather subjective hence I find this headphone (at least for my own ears) well tuned to produce balanced lows, mid and high frequencies. I listen on a medium volume output yet the Triport produces great base and crisp mid and highs. The headphone provides a good seal around my ears so a low volume music almost negates external noise. The longest I had it on is about two hours straight without feeling ear-fatigue.
The price of $139.99 is a little tough to take at first(at least for me) a $100 price tag makes it really attractive. The longer I use this headphone, the more I appreciate it.

Excellent for the money
By: Chris

There are headphones you can buy for $130-$150 that sound better, isolate better, have better bass response, and will stand up better to wear and tear, but try wearing them for more than an hour straight without taking a break. The Bose Tri-Ports are, by far, the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used. I’m the type of music listener that can spend 9 hours in a row sitting around listening to music, and these headphones are the only ones I can wear the entire time without even breaking a sweat.
The sound is brilliant and very accurate (in other words: don’t expect them to bump bass too hard), which is actually quite impressive for Bose. I have to say that the tickling sensation in my ears whenever listening to a song with acoustic guitar is well worth the price of admission. I’ve had my Tri-Ports now for over a year, and they’ve travelled in my bag with me nearly everywhere, and have withstood a moderate amount of punishment. I actually consider them to be fairly sturdier than they look.
Overall, the best balance of sound and comfort for the price range, exactly what headphones should be.

Bose Tri-Ports not so good in wind
By: T
August 24, 2005 @ 11:49 AM44pam8>
Bose Tri-Ports are excellent for indoor use. The bass is dependent on openings on the outside of the earphone shell.
If you wear the headphones outside in winds greater than 5-8 mph.,a disturbing wind noise is very pronounced as the wind passes the outside ports.

Perfect sound, but delicate.
By: Conor
August 20, 2005 @ 5:52 PM50ppm8>
I found the sound from these headphones perfect, even in pretty noisy environments. The only warning I would have for potential buyers, however, is to be careful. You’ll notice that the headband on these is a lot smaller and thinner than other headphones of similar size, and it contains several very flimsy little joints to ensure the headphone parts fit properly. As a consequence of this, after a few months of use, I had most of the headband taped up with masking tape, as most of the joints had broken open pretty easily whenever I was anyway rough with them. I suppose they weren’t designed for that kind of use, but any user should to be careful about, for example, storing them in a backpack or in jacket pocket which you casually throw over a chair.

Better than the QC-2 in quiet areas
By: Tom Z
March 1, 2005 @ 6:39 AM01pam3>
I tried the Bose QC-2 first at $300, but did not like the performance in quiet conditions. The TriPorts do a better job in quiet circumstances since they are a passive device, and do not add “hiss” to quiet passages like the QC-2. They are light and the ear pads are the softest ever. I got mine for $129. On some music, the mid-range is slightly emphasized, but this is from connecting to the straight out jack of a CD player that has no equalizer.
If you ride airplanes, or visit motel rooms a lot with noisy wall units – get the QC-2. For home environments, I prefer the Tri ports.
