  1. This is a good camera but VERY slow to save indoor photos.

I bought this camera as a replacement for my Kodak Z740 during our trip to the Philippines. It is a good camera with a solid feel to it, a good LCD display and a rare optical viewfinder. Zoom is OK but I miss a much longer zoom. Photos are good and video is OK, working especially well in dim light. There is an auto-orientation feature which always shows photos on the LCD display right-side-up. Battery life is good and does not appear as power-hungry as my other camera and prior cameras. Taking photos is quick in the bright sunlight, but when taken indoors or in some situations (perhaps where more detail is saved) the camera takes a glacial 4 seconds to save, and I have experienced a lot of lost photo opportunities because of this. Also, there is a feel that the camera is not ready to take the next photo once I press the shutter, and at times it takes ages for the shutter to click. It’s a good thing I had the Kodak z740 handy, as it merrily clicked photos at 1 second intervals without fail and even with flash. The Canon is good as a backup camera, but not for my more demanding (although I would consider this basic) needs.
