Uncomfortable and squeaky

I bought this chair from DWR with the leather seat pad that’s apparently one of the optional configurations. There are two adjustments; height and tension for the tilting action. The arms are fixed and there’s no tilt lock.
The chair’s attractive enough but it’s about as comfortable as an old-fashioned wooden office chair. The seat padding is minimal and the back feels cold and hard. And just like an old chair, mine has started to squeak loudly after a week of use. I’ll see if I can lube the plastic-on-plastic contact points that are the likely origin of the sound, but obviously this design is just for show and the engineering is poor. A big name designer has given the world another mediocre chair.
