Picturemate problem

This unit prints great pictures. True. But what epson fails to tell you is you can’t let it sit idle for too long. You must print on a regular basis or the heads getted clogged. Mine worked for a year and a half or so. When I called them they just walked me through everything I had already done. Then gave me a phone number to a repair center close to my home. They wanted 50 dollars to just look at it. I will not buy epson again.

My PictureMate sounds like it is printing but all I get is a blank page. Yes I put a new cartridge in it and cleaned the heads four times. Called Epson help line, they did not help at all. Good pictures for a little over a year, and then throw it away. I will not buy another.

My Picturemate problem

I recently attempted to print pictures from our grandsons high school graduation and I get a blank sheet. I have a new cartridge in it and I have run the nozzle cleaning at least a dozen times. I have the cameras digital photo card installed in the printer and I can select a picture but after pressing print a blank sheet comes out. I have contacted Epson and they will not help me because the printer is a year and a half old and the warranty is only for one year. We have another, larger, Epson printer that we are using and I guess I’ll have to settle for what ever quality it produces. It is interesting that, that printer, is the third Epson as it has failed for the same reason as the Picturemater (No Picture or print) and has been replaced twice before. I think it’s time that I look at other manufactures or maybe go to a laser printer.

I print many pictures every day in my business using a top end printer. Nothing matches the quality of this small unit. They are smudge proof and water resistant. Prints at a price of $ .20 each you have a winner.

Just bought one yesterday, 12/17/06, on sale at Staples for $79.95, with a “rebate” for a free rechargeable battery by mail. The quality of the prints is remarkable, and I like the idea of being able to take a small printer along to various settings, like family gatherings. I have two criticisms, though. One is that the screen is too small and too coarse an interface. The other is that the simplicity of the software makes preparing a picture to print relatively slow, and tedious.
Despite these two minor problems I have every intention of keeping this unit.
