  1. Software doesn't work

I purchased a custom designed HD Flip and it is beautiful…. it is very easy to use… the zoom works …. BUT … after struggling with it for 3 weeks, I still am unable to make the software work on either a PC, a PC laptop or a G4 Mac. Each time you open the folder of where the videos are stored, or try to run the software, you get the “Microsoft has experienced a problem, do you want to send a report” message. And when trying to play the video thru things like real player or windows media … it is slow, and choppy and unwatchable. When calling C/S they didn’t have a solution, had to send the camera back for a replacement because of a software issue. Not cool. Good product. Not good support.

I was very disappointed to find that 64 clips of my precious recordings during my recent overseas trip were lost when I returned home. I did not delete any clips, i.e. I did not click on any of the delete buttons. This is a major flaw. There is no backup in the device.

Don’t try and compare the Flip with any other camcorder devise…That’s not the point. Ease and speed is paramount here. Also, the built in software is superb. Automatically stitches together all vids and does a great job of auto editing the whole thing. I always have mine with me. Quality is remarkable on a Mac, not as impressive on that other (forget the name) system.

    Buy ‘n enjoy!

Wow my experience with this small video camera shows nothing but great video. Just love it and what ease to just pull it out of your pocket and start recording. This does not compare with quality of video that you would get from a cell phone (Its Better!) so believe it! Prices are always on sale at different places so keep an eye out and get one!

I was at Best Buy recently and they had a JVC Digital Camera for 269.99 on clearance. It wasn’t fancy, but took excellent video and the sound was decent. My kids cell phone does what the Mino does.

  6. Not worth the money

Review summed it up nicely. A camcorder like this should be a disposable item you buy at Wall-Greens, not something you fork over $200 for. We are talking VGA resolution folks – this is terrible. Most new cell phones have 1-megapixel or better cameras/camcorders.
