Not comming back from hibernation stand by

Don’t buy the Gateway NX100x. Mine is less that a year old and it will not boot up. I am a software developer I an I have had several laptops through my short 9 year career making software, I never had I laptop doing the bad things this one does.
It is a slick, low weight nice laptop but now I will have to try to erase all the confidential code before send it to Gateway to be repair.
It issue seems to be that it stays in hibernatio or stanby mode and it does not come back.
So be carefull if you are thinking of buying the laptop.

Good for the price

This is a nice laptop for the price. I’ll just list a few items that don’t generally make the reviews:
1. The 9-cell battery lasts between 6 and 8.5 hours, depending on usage. However, the computer shuts itself off as soon as the battery level reaches 10%;
2. Starting up and shutting down take 2 and 1 minutes, respectively. This may be due to Windows Vista;
3. If, having started to shut down the computer, you close the lid, the system goes into hibernation mode. Open the lid a few hours later and it will continue to shut down, forcing you to wait for it to power dowm before starting it again;
4. The metal cover is very prone to smudges and fingerprints.
