A Year is About All You Get

I have the “One” computer. After a year of use it started with a message about not having enough space and after that I could no longer connect to the internet. After calls to Gateway and a computer service that sent a tech to our house they still cannot say why the computer will not connect to the internet. We have another system that is over 10 years old that connects to the internet without any problem.

I purchased the Gateway One last year. I LOVED IT as is was very fast, sleek, and convenient. The mouse never worked though. So, dealing with India based Gateway customer service was no longer an option since I never got anywhere with them – I just got another off brand mouse. One year later, I had a problem getting it started one morning. The following morning it wouldn’t start at all. Took it in – fried harddrive! All data was unrecoverable. Gateway wouldn’t do a thing saying I went beyond the warranty date. Today, I don’t like Gateway or the PC ONE.

The new Gateway One

I’ve had this computer for about 4 months now…I LOVE THIS THING!!! This is the first time I’d ever spent this much on a computer $1,810 and I use to be a big Dell die hard fan. For some reason I still have Dell in my heart but I have no regrets with the money I invested with the Gateway One. My only complaint is they can’t compete with that Dell customer service. I had to make a call to a Gateway Tech about the transfer of my info from my old Dell to the Gateway One and it seemed like he was reading a script on what it was he needed to tell me and that made me really uneasy for the type of money I’d just spent. Things he couldn’t tell me as a tech I had to take a couple days to figure out on my own. It’s a good computer with a lot of speed for me and it looks good in my home, I wouldn’t trade it right now.
