Picked up this bad bit from Best-Buy for $1099.99, superb screen. I’ll give up 1 lb for a better battery, hey about 3-3.5 hours our of it. Wow, unless you are a hard-core 4K machine gamer, this is your desktop replacement, and no, its not hard to carry around. Perfect portable desktop replacement, of course the quad/six cores come out in a few months, we’ll change our minds, but this is a great DTR!

Great machine. Runs many modern games like Fallout 3 pretty nicely. Also runs Second Life pretty well. SL is an application compatible to many cards but optimized for none, and is a challenge for even Crysis running systems. Though my copy has a Centrino 2 label, it actually has a Core 2 Duo installed. The machine is heavy, yes. But that is to be expected given the power. One small flaw is the mirror-like screen. You can see yourself reflected on it while viewing dim or dark images at day, or in bright light. Bad for those dark alleys and sewers on Fallout 3.

I bought this monster for gaming and it delivers amazing performance for a notebook. I played Crysis on 1440×900 with most settings on high and got an average 35 FPS, the only problem I had was its weight and size. AMAZING JOB GATEWAY!

The P-7805u FX is a remarkable machine. What you get in this notebook would cost $2,000 TO $3,000+ from other companies. I get anywhere from 50 to 95 frames per second on Call of Duty World at War on high settings. I got lucky and got 1920×1200 resolution that makes it nice when watching movies. I dial it down to 1440×900 when gaming. I can get over three hours out of the battery easily. You have the option HDMI as well as VGA for multiple monitors. The graphics card is outstanding, especially for being in a notebook. The processor handles multitasking fairly well. If it isn’t enough, then you can easily upgrade it. The quality of the machine is outstanding and is backed by Gateways support team that is very helpful. The value is hands down the best you can get, period. It has been said by many respective tech gurus and reviewers that this is one of the best gaming notebooks/laptops that is on the market. You will definitely be happy this purchase. You have the option to install a second hard drive and run Raid 0 if you wish. Upgrading is a snap as they make the processor, HDD, and ram accessible through the back of the note book. I don’t even use my desktop anymore since I have purchased this notebook. I give this 5 stars for its remarkable performance and even more remarkable price. Two thumbs up Gateway and Acer. You really came through on this notebook.

This machine is awesome. I can play EverQuest 2 with the game settings maxed out, and that is saying something for those of you who have tried to max out that games settings without a stutter. The keyboard feels great, the machine is beautiful, and it has as many, or more, features than a desktop in this price range. Buy it with confidence. I love this machine. Warning, it is Huge, but so is the performance! Good job Gateway :)
