Love this T.V. Buy the extended warranty! My two year warranty expired one week ago. Now my Lamp needs to be replaced. the lamp is about 200 bucks. Picture is always great. I Have No Problems with Glare. It’s an all black tv. No glare even with the sun or lights on. My big remote doesn’t work anymore but it comes with a mini remote that i use anyway.

discoloration

I have a 2005 42V710 and was thrilled with it until some yellowing appeared in the lower half of the screen after 3 years. Assuming it was the lamp, I just replaced it. The brightness and color are better, but the yellow tinge remains. Anyone know if it is fixable and where the problem is?

If they could get rid of the screen door effect ,looks like watching picture through a dity window with picture moving behind it,
I would love it. It has a lot of great features and tweaking controls

I bought this TV in Jan. 05 after months of research. Couldn’t be happier! Everything from DVD to HD looks amazing. It’s perfect, not to mention the sleek design of this tv. Don’t waste time looking at anything else. It is worth every penny and then some!

Have had the set just over a month and could not be happier. Have the 60″ model and the picture is as advertised in the review article. The quality of DVD is astonishing!
Thought long and hard before purchasing and have no regrets . Did purchase at a local specialty audio/video shop.

superb performance

purchased the 70 ” lcd rear projection model.Since the day we first turned it on I have been stunned by the TV ’s performance.
Hdtv broadcasts( cable via comcast) are incredible. The color palette is true to life and the images produced have a real 3D quality.
I play my DVDs thru a Toshiba SD 9200 player and have been amazed by how well the TV reproduces the images.More importantly I been unable to see any motion artifacts, screendoor effects that have been seen with other TVs.
I have compared the hitachi to a freind’s 60 ” Sony LCD rear projection TV.The Hitachi wins Hands down.

TV DOES NOT WORK
By: NOPATIENCE
January 11, 2005 @ 7:34 PM20ppm1>
IT TAKES FROM 1/2 HOUR TO 1 1/2 HOURS TO GET THE TV WORKING. SELLING DEALER WILL NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS, AND CLAIMS IT IS A WARRANTY PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM STARTED 2 DAYS AFTER DELIVERY. IN 2 DAYS IT WILL BE 2 MONTHS AND HITACHI CANNOT GET THE SUPPOSED DEFECTIVE PART (DIGITAL MODULE), AND SO FAR HAS NOT ENTERTAINED JUST GIVING ME A NEW TV. TECHINCAL PEOPLE ARE PLEASANT, BUT IT SEEMS THAT THEIR HANDS ARE TIED. NO ONE HAS THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE THE EXECUTIVE DECISION TO JUST GIVE ME A NEW TV. AS OF TODAY, THE TV WILL NOT START AT ALL. WHEN IT DID WORK, THE PUCTURE WAS SUPERB, BUT HAVING TO WAIT FOR 1/2 TO OVER 1 1/2 HOURS FOR THE TV TO START WORKING TOOK ALL OF THE FUN OUT OF WATCHING IT. ADDITIONALLY, WE DID NOT DARE SHUT THE TV OFF AFTER DID START – ELSE WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS RITUAL ALL OVER AGAIN. THE PROBLEM STARTS WITH THE DEALER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (STARTS WITH THE LETTER “S”) SINCE THE DEALER WOULD NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BUT WARRANTY BY HITACHI, I AM STUCK. I WILL POST ADDITIONAL UPDATES AS THE OCCUR. THE LAST CONTACT I HAD WITH HITACHI TECHNICAL WAS ON MONDAY 1/10/2005. TO SUMMARIZE THE DISCUSSION “THEY ARE WORKING ON IT”.
