I bought this player and then i researched this unit and found alot of bad reviews and got a little scared but honestly its the best 199.00 i ever spent on a cd player it works fantastic i dont have quite 300 cds maybe almost 200 and i have them all loaded in i just hit shuffle play and your in music heaven and it doesnt skip or miss a beat

I have had 2 of these units. The 1st one jammed up and was repaired under warranty only to repeat the same fault out of warranty.

The 2nd one developed the same fault after 7 months and has been repaired by Sony centre.Quite frankly, I am expecting it to fail again. I have a large CD collection so the idea is great but I wish I could find an alternative unit.

Good luck if you buy one !!

I purchased the Sony player 3 months ago and after a couple of near misses when trying to change disc, the whole unit has jammed up, for the money I spent on this item I expected it to last a bit longer. From reading previous statements I think I wont bother with the repairing and give it up as a bad job.

This is the second unit I have had. Each lasted about 2+ years before they started skipping. I certainly won't make the same mistake again, but I couldn't believe Sony could ship 2 lemons to the same customer. I love the capacity, but....I'll find another product from another manufacturer.

I only gave this CD changer a one-star because you can't rate it as less. We bought this at a local Best Buy who promised us it was the best changer on the market. It constantly jams by failing to return a CD to the carousel at which point it scrapes and scratches past any CD remaining in the carousel. The first track of CD’s is seldom played. No support from Sony on this model. We finally cut the cords and tossed it in the snow bank.

I bought my first one in 2001, Best Buy, forget the warranty, no way! Buy the extended warranty! Two years later when either the turntable jams or the eye fails, you'll be glad you did. It is convenient to run, hit random play and the days of commercials are done. People claim no skipping? I run a Pioneer VSX-9370 with two Peavy 2400 watt amps, and a Ashdown Evo 11 900 as my bass amp. Yes the thing will skip! I highly question the durability of these units. I've had a Radio Shack $19.99 8 track player since 1976, never failed, regular maintenance, a rubber drive belt every 7 or 8 years. This CD player goes away on a 2 year basis for a rebuild. It would be nice to be able to dim the panel. Sony, build the thing with some quality!

I am on my second one of these, the first one lasting about two years before starting to skip tracks and finally becoming so bad I replaced it less than two months ago. This new one that I received in April 2009 has several times 'spit' out a disk, jamming the whole turntable, and even breaking a couple of CDs while trying to revolve past the loose CD. I have had to completely unload the unit (almost 250 CDs) to get at the broken pieces. This unit has a serious design flaw..... I'm hoping to find some other better quality product. Lots of luck if you buy this piece of junk!
