LP2065

I work in CGI & use a CRT for colour accurate work and have been given a LP2065 as a second monitor but the burn-in is really bad. I’ve worked using Dell LCD monitors for the last 3 years and not seen anything like this. The burn-in after holding a still image for even 10 minutes is quite visible on a neutral bknd (ie Shake). Looks like I’m not the only one to notice this either.

I’ve used this monitor in work now for 6 months and love it. In fact, I like it so much, I’ve ordered two for home.
The monitor is pin sharp, great colours, and brilliant for games. However, I do a lot of photo editing and find it perfect for this. The colours are vibrant and accurate.
The USB ports are a brilliant added bonus and very useful in my situation. It has saved me so many cables running all over the place.
I would highly recommend this monitor.

Pretty good picture but it keeps getting burn in. It fades out after a couple of weeks.

The best 20.1" LCD monitor!

Excellent picture! Most important aspect that distinguishes this monitor from others of the same size is its perfect handling of text. All monitors will show you food pictures these days, but if you work with text, most of them will blur parts of letters in certain places. It may happen on different text sizes and is very annoying if working with text a lot. With HP LP2056 any text you view is SHARP!! I love it! It’s the best! Also consider this:
Smooth installation.
2 video inputs so you can connect two PCs to it and switch easily.
All cables and connectors you might need are provided.
The pedestal is very solid and stable – no shaking. Position is easily adjustable.
Overall excellent monitor at very good price!!! Especially for those of us who work on computer a lot.
I bought another one for my wife after 3 days of using it. It was just too good and she likes it as well.

I am very surprised that a previous reveiwer found the image blurry as I find it to be totally sharp. Have it connected to an Apple MacBook via DVI cable and the image is superb although I have read that the analogue connection is not so hot. It is easy to view at an oblique angle and the additional usb ports are useful.

Superb monitor, highly adjustable

If you are a simple MS-Office user or Internet junkey, or a gamer, or loves to watch movies on the monitor then this monitor will suit you just fine. The display is more of a 4:3 ratio, which is an advantage in my opinion. The display can go anyway you wish, up-down, sideways, tilt… anything you wish.
I pat myself on the shoulder each day for buying this gem of a monitor.
If I had the extra cash back then i would hvae bought the terrific LP2465, a gigantic 24" display… but this will do fine for now.. :-)

Blurry

Very poor monitor, can stand to use for maybe half hour before severe eye strain. Like looking through tiny glass beads. I can’t understand the good reviews for this monitor. Sent the first one back it was so bad and the replacement is not any better.
I would ditch this thing in a second if I could afford to. A cheaper BenQ FP202W has much better clarity.

Average to poor quality

I cannot believe I am talking about the same monitor as the other reviews, where people say that text is crisp and sharp. In my monitor, text is very very soft and blurry, at native resolution (1600×1200), the only resolution I’m interested in.
Colors seem to be ok, but the lack of text sharpness makes the monitor useless for my daily work.

Horrible Monitor

Bought a HP Monitor LP2065, and it was defective from day one. HP replaced with another monitor, and 3 days later it went bad, blank Image, they sent me another one, one and the font is out of focus, lacks depth and sharpness.
HP service refuses to replace my monitor with a new one, and they kept sending me refurbished ones.
I switched monitors with a co-worker who has a Viewsonic to prove it’s not my video card, (even though I do have a brand new HP notbook), and the ViewSonic Monitor was awesome, and my co-worker complained from same thing lack of depths and sharpness.
In Summary don’t even try to buy this monitor. I’m trying to work with my company to return it and get the money back and buy Viewsonic.

Terrific monitor, highly adjustable

This monitor is simply *terrific*, the view is very large and very customizable. Text is sharp and images look awesome. Movies play just right for a 8ms and a Tr/Tn panel. Also the Black is truly black and this is noticeable due to high contrast ratio. I played a FPS on it and it looks great, no visible ghosting. The monitor is very bright, I put mine at 30% and it is just fine for me.
I am working with it at 1280*1024 since I find that 1600*1200 simply shows too small fonts. The best feature about this monitor is that you can adjust it ANYWAY you like, including the very useful pivot rotation that allows you to read documents at a single glance, no scrolling is needed.
The stand is not too fancy, not too simple. Very stable indeed
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serious 20.1″ LCD.

I used this on a client site for a week. The experience made me want to run out and buy one.
The display was crisp and sharp, with no washout in the bright lighting in the office. It looked great at 1024×768 (the letters were almost *too* big), and super at 1600×1200.
I didn’t play with the cable management system, but it was present on the unit I used.
