Well I must say this has to be one of the best 30″ monitors on the market. I upgraded from the gateway 24″ to the hp Lp3065, and I will have to say this Lp3065 is the best display I have ever seen. I use it mostly for gaming…..and the colors are rich and true and black is black. I especially like the 2560×1600 resolution, even though all games do not support that resolution, the ones that do are just out of this world. And as we all know the higher you set the resolution the more it takes away performance from your graphics card. I was thinking I may need to go SLI but it is not necessary with the 8800 gtx graphics card. I’m just totally amazed. Oh and for the guys that hear ticking, I don’t know where you get that from, this monitor is super silent. Superb monitor HP!

I use this display in my print graphics and web development studio and can tell you that it is an EXCELLENT display.

The build quality and image quality are out of this world. The expanded color gamut combined with the stunning contrast ratio is just a dream to look at.

I have MANY other displays: only the Apple Cinema Displays come close to this for the price, and right now, I would take this HP over an ACD 30″. I can’t say that for the comparable Dell.

The unit is dead QUIET — I don’t understand the poster above who is hearing “clicks.” Mine has not. It is totally silent.

    Buy this display.

I can only recommend this display – brilliant sharp picture, good viewing angles and the resolution… My 22inch samsung LCD looks puny next to the HP behemoth :) Great display for work (CAD), DVD, TV and text. Lack of OSD doesn’t bother me – no need to do any adjustments anyway, if the colour is too brilliant one can use software correction.

Display nice for the eyes, but bad for the ears – noticeable relays-clicks every couple of seconds, VERY disturbing in a quiet environment. Considered normal by HP! Would not recommend!!

Since the monitor has no color controls, you are limited to your video card’s few adjustment features. You can reduce the color saturation on your photo collection by using a photo editor like Photoshop, but then the photos will look dull when viewed on a different monitor. The one plus to having overly brilliant colors is that it makes your XP or Vista desktop icons and gadgets really pop. Never-the-less, the real estate and super sharp text and graphics will outshine the problem of overly saturated colors for most people.
