I got this PC in 2007, I think. The only problem I had was that the power supply gave out on me so I got a 450 MV one to replace the now crappy 250 power supply. I hope to get a good video card soon so I can play Starcraft II when it comes out

  2. Nice Machine, Upgrades a Must

For most PC users this is a decent machine, looks nice and runs quietly. Gamers will definitely need to upgrade the video card–I went inexpensive and got a Nvidia 8400 GS, ($69) and easy to self install, made all the difference in the world. You will however also need to upgrade the power source to at least 450 watts or risk blowing out the power source and the card. Unless you like a lot of wires have a pro put in the power source, scary to look at–lol Overall not a bad machine for the money. Oh, and my memory card reader never worked..

This is a great system I have ever used. But I’m also unhappy with the motherboad going out after 14 months of use. HP would not help with the warranty and now i’m forced to buy another computer system. This time it wont be an HP PC.

I absolutely love this PC (using it right now) lots of power and such, runs anything I want without delay, but a videocard upgrade is a must. also, be carefull of the 250W power supply, they dont make videocards under a miniumum requirement of 300W anymore, and most require near 500W for decent performance. Vista is somewhat unpleasant, but theyve been patching it up a bit lately.

Good computer mostly. Everything runs great except the motherboard died. Pretty expensive for 12 months use!

My family purchased this hp computer about a year ago. It has run very strong. Me and my bro download Music watch videos and play some games. The pc can run a few games nothing like Bioshock or Crysis though. The PCwould be 10x faster if not for silly Vista. You can use it for gaming as long as you up the video card. The keyboard and mouse are ok. Nothin special here. I love the pc but i hate Vista. I encourage everyone to buy it . But if i were you would invest on a better vid card and windows xp you would be happier.

  7. GREAT for business,a rock hit by lightning would do better for gaming

I like this computer alot except for the fact that it has Vista and Vista is a pain in the butt to use. It hides your files, yadda yadda yadda

Graphics are terrible compared to everyone’s computers I’ve seen, but with Vista taking almost all or more than half of your graphics capabilities there is no suprise. But overall, if I never used it for gaming, it would be a great machine.

Well I have had the 6130n for a year now and it has by far outdone every computer I have put up to it. Yes if you don’t have the money for a new mouse or video card, your wife will complain Halo 2 just isn’t the same. I will hopefully have this computer for my whole college experience and I am now just a sophomore. Hp has outdone themselves this time. Great buy.

Good system but was disapointed I had to upgrade the video. Most retail vendors are bundling this system with HD ready monitors.

Also the price per gig of the HP Pocket drives are way out there.A usb external 320gb is about the same price as a 120 gig pocket drive.and you don’t have to worry if the other machine is so equiped. So I think it’s a waste of a bay.Would have been much better to spend the cost of this drive bay to include hd ready video.

For an off the shelf system this one met my needs. I upgraded the PSU to support a high end graphics card (8800gts) and the result has met my expectations.

I have had this system about a week, now. In the first few days, I found a hardware conflict with a purchased HP F4180 printer/scanner. I got the blue sceen of death. The problem was quickly resolved by Circuit City Fire Dog techs. I am still manuevering through the new Vista operating system. I would probably enjoy my new system even more, if I could understand Vista, completely. I have had great reliability with HP products before and hope the a6130n matches previous products. I look forward to buying an external hard drive, to prevent the loss of files and expanding the second drive. There are many great features on this unit.

  12. Customer service is problematic

Personally, I won’t be buying HP again. Not the computer necessarily, but when we did have an issue with the hard drive (within the first year and after only about 3 months of real use), it was extremely frustrating trying to get anywhere with HP tech support. I’d spoken to approx 7/8 different techs, none of whom seemed to want to listen to what I was telling them about the problem (but then they probably couldn’t understand me any better than I could understand them).

  13. Just Shy of a Gaming Box

HP appears to have done their homework- they listened to what people want (with reasonable constraints) and reflect they are aware of the difficulties the nForce 430 chipset has with mixtures of USB 1 and 2, which is likely why they retained bringing keyboard and mouse in on PS/2. This is one of the few production offerings that will run Vista as fast as legacy machines will run XP. Throw a hundred dollar video card in it and you’ve got a decent upper mid range gaming machine. Take a good look at it in comparison to the competition. It reflects a fairly high value quotient, but try to keep your USB devices exclusively USB 2.0 to avoid the woes of the nForce 430 chipset.

  14. Cheap'n' Crap

Outdated components, not even running at their right speed (742Mhz memory bus speed is meaningless when the CPU can/should use 800Mhz, and the computer is fitted with 667Mhz memory..ridiculous!). Did you check the PSU? Nope, but you still suggest that buyer could add and extra video card..but will the PSU handle it? Usually not, as these machines are provided with minimum PSU units, usually able to run the machine one year and one day before it dies…I had to repair so many when I was working in a comp.repair shop. And to have Vista on top of it! Utter crap. Move along, nothing to see, save your money.Better learn how to build your own machine, and do it!
