Christmas gift. Set it up with relative difficulty. Stopped working within 10 months. Thought it needed new battery and delayed getting one. Well, nobody sells a replacement, not even Logitec. Called them and they wouldn’t replace unit. Only sell new one at 50% off. (ripoff). They sent complimentary battery with no luck. Bought cheap $20. universal remote, uses replaceable batteries, it rocks.

Works GREAT for ME!

As with anyone that knows even a little bit about electronics, otherwise you should not even own this remote because it is to high tech for you, you have to CLEAN contacts every so often! Metal oxidizes and you have to clean it with denatured alcohol on a cotton swap. Do not touch the plastic. #1 guy did not even mention what was wrong, most likely operator error. And the same with the second guy. I love it, it worked fine and I replaced my 676 with this, color screen and motion sensing are awesome!

Product didn't work, Logitech didn't want to honor warranty

I purchased a 720 new in May 07 from Costco. Weeks of using online software, online troubleshooting software, first level tech support including a firmware update, and advance tech support couldn’t produce a working product. Was promised via phone an RMA for a product exchange, but didn’t get one. After complaining via website contact, I got an email saying they would only repair at my cost for shipping parts and labor. This on a product that never worked and was less than 3 months old. Logitech maintained that the product was used by someone else thus invalidating the warrantly. Knowing this not to be true, I’m guessing that someone at Logitech would prefer to create false product records instead of honoring a warranty. Bottom line is the product never worked, and the company wasn’t going to support it, or even allow for a normal consumer remedy. Never again.

Harmony 720 longevity

I am going on to my third (3rd) unit!…I purchased the 720 after reading raving reviews back in November ‘06. It was everything they said it would be except for its ability to charge its battery. After 2-3 months of use and charging, the contacts lose their ability to ‘connect’. Thank the heavens for Costco and for Logitech’s Excellent 2nd LEVEL support. This will be the last, though!

Harmony 720

I have a home theater system with a Lexicon DC-1 digital controller, a Carver SD/a-390t CD carousel, 2 Sony DVD/CD players, a Sony CD player, a Denon Tuner with optional remote, a Sony HD DirecTV receiver and a Sony XBR TV. I was able to program all of these devices and add additional functions for the Denon optional remote in less than 2 hours. I just put 8 remotes in the drawer. The 720 is far more user friendly than some remotes I’ve used that cost far more. My only complaint is that it does not support RF.

Harmony 720 setup

Being a geek type, I thought this would be easy to setup, but low and behold I’m into the 4th day! I’ve finally got most everything to work, but my DVD/VHS dubbing equipment now doesn’t turn off when I switch to a different device. I called Panasonic and try as they might, it was transferred to a level 2. I’m waiting on them to call me back, call me back, call me back.
