Picked em up about 4 months back and not one day has gone by where I don’t feel proud of these speakers…the thunderous bass is enough to wake the dead from their graves..:P

Hands down the best speakers ever!

I’ve had them for about a year and the sound quality is amazing. I’ve had logitech products in the past and there warranty and customer service is top notch. To the first reviewer, what more could you ask? If your warranty is up what more can they do for you?

I had a older set of speakers with there warranty go bad. They replaced the entire set for free! Awesome customer service!

  3. Logitech Z-5500 Control Pod Failure

I’ve had this system for 2 or 3 years now and enjoyed it, except for last week when the Control Pod failed. Doesn’t recognize any inputs now. Subwoofer is worthless because of the 15 pin connector to the Control Pod. I can use the satellite speakers with another amp I have. Called Logitech support and all they did was offer me a new system at half price. Or look on eBay for a replacement. I guess this is the last Logitech product I’ll buy.

  5. incredible speakers!

After reading and reading and reading…reviews on these i took the pluge and picked up a set for $298cdn. I initially hooked these up to my sb live 5.1 card via coax and was blown away. 2 days later I went out and got an audigy2 ZS and a good composite cable for the coax as well as a gold plated minijack->rca adapter.

initial impressions – excellent midrange for the satellites, very clean highs with no colourization that you’d normally find in a satellite. at over 60w rms these suckers can push alot of volume.and what can you say about the sub but “daaaaaammmmn”. the thing really pounds, and to me sounds quite accurate for a ported setup. oh and did i mention? it’s loud? I can hear (i.e feel) it at 25hz.

I grabbed a couple THX/DTS/Dolby digital demo dvds and fired them up. this was where i was absolutely floored. the sound positioning is so well done with these speakers. they really really really do excel in 5.1..I watched all the thx, dolby, dts trailers over and over. the discs also included a few tracks recorded and mixed in dolby labs in 5.1. it really is amazing. the THX ‘train’ trailer makes the entire room shake if it’s turned up.

note that there are 2 versions of these speakers out: one uses attached wires with rca ends for the satellites (and rca inputs on the sub’s back), the other uses detachable wires with the standard red/white clamps. i got lucky and ended up with this version, which is much better in my opinion since you can easily upgrade and lengthen the wires, or even switch to different satellites.. i read a review by someone who replaced the front L and R satellites with some JBL book shelf speakers and was amazed at how well they worked. nice to have options.

considering the types of inputs it has, this would also make a great setup for home theatre. i mean at 300cdn, you coudn’t find somehting else that would sound as good as this for a mid sized room type of setup.

    highly recommended speakers!

I got the speakers about a week ago and I still cant believe how clear and powerful the sound is. I cant imagine anything that logitech could find to fix in regards to sound quality (if so i think only an audiophile fanatic would notice the difference).
