The best phone ever
By: Shanira
February 16, 2009 @ 9:05 AM55pam2>
I have had this phone for 2 years and could not have asked for a better phone. I love the you have to slide it down to open it…we all have our quirks that’s what makes it interesting. I now have to switch cell phone company and must choose a new phone…the next phone will have big shoes to fill…if I can find one that can compare. I use my phone daily and cannot complain about the Motorola Pebl!

Reliable

I’ve had the PEBL for about a year, until I jumped into the pool with it in my hand =/ Well up until that point it was a very reliable phone. Calls never failed, and I dropped it almost daily (it still looks new). The best part was the way it opened, because people could never figure it out. I miss my phone already. It was good for texting and calling which is basically all I need in a phone. Camera quality wasn’t great though and the screen often shuttered and was delayed, but again, I dropped it almost daily.

Decent Phone

I’ve had my PEBL for a year and three months now and it still works fine. I’ve never had to take it in for any repairs and I’ve even dropped it pretty well on a few occasions. It’s only frozen up maybe 2-3 times, which is pretty standard. Opening the phone is not difficult once you get the hang of it and you get plenty of compliments on its sleek design. My only complaint is the battery life is starting to get ridiculously short these days.
I use my cell phones for calling and texting on a constant basis and if that’s the only thing I have to complain about after over a year than I think it’s doing pretty well.

Bad recording

November 14, 2007 @ 10:28 AM17pam11>
The recording on this phone is terrible. All the other phones are great at recording but this one you can’t hear. I love the phone but the pictures are also bad – it is like an old camera and you have to wait for like 3 seconds so the picture is not blurry.

Ages very badly

I’ve had the PEBL for about a year and it looks like crap. The smooth finish it sports when you buy it goes downhill in about three or four months; it can be scratched by rubs, scrapes, and maybe even dirty looks. The keypad is almost too dim to see in all but the faintest of light, and fingerprints and smudges are so easily left that you’ll want to carry a bottle of Windex around. Also, the speaker phone is too hard to hear while driving. Although the sound quality is good, and the “T9″ text entry system is smart for text messaging, for the $200 I spent for the PEBL, I’m disappointed. This should have been priced at closer to $89. For $200 it should have been made with polished stone to make it last. Stay away, stay away, there are better phones for less.

Posessed?

I have come to learn and accept that Motorola phones has an expiration date. They will stop working after a little over one year inspite of how carefully you handle them. I got the pebl as a gift, having sworn to stop buying Motorola phones…The look, feel and battery life was great, but I was unable to sync t with my PC to upload my pics, the video recording time was also ludicrous. Its been three month and the phone is at the Motorola dealer being repaired. First the # 6 started sticking, then all the keys startted pressing by them selves, the phone was browsing, dialing, adjusting ring volume by itself all I had to do was open it.

I like it!

Bought this directly from Motorola since I’m one of Cingular’s "former AT&T customers" with an outstanding plan that Cingular won’t let me keep if I upgrade my phone with them. I really like this phone but the *one* thing I’m not too fond of is trying to open it. I can do it on a fluke, but that’s about it. I have resorted to just manually opening it. Sharp looking phone!

Good outlook but breaks easily
By: Emerald
March 1, 2007 @ 6:49 AM11pam3>
It has a cool outlook and average functioning but apart from that..HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. First of all, it had a charging problem in the first month. I got that fixed, then the next month the voice thing broke: and I can only hear people by putting it on speakers (generally a Motorola problem, a number of my friends that use Motorola have had the same problem). I got it fixed but I’d rather use my old nokia phone than that. Motorola advertises this phone as nice in design with cool technology. But really, the cameras not great either. So I only use the text messaging (which is not as convenient as nokias) and calling.

Awesome Phone!

October 29, 2006 @ 1:39 AM36pam10>
By far the nicest lookin phone out there.
Feature wise very simliar to it’s Cousin the RAZR. Except better Design an with a Dual-Hinge Mechanism Feature.
Internal Screen is amazing bright and clear. Camera is good for a VGA. It’s Rubber Material on Outside is smooth and protects from scratches.
Key Pad is flat and easy to use.
Bottom Line: Really Nice Phone with a Design that looks like a Million Bucks! Not as Popular as the RAZR but at least you won’t be seen with a Phone that Everyone and their Mom has.
Also, Don’t buy this phone or anyone phone without doing your homework first. That way you don’t have to nag about how stupid you were in buying a phone you don’t like.

This Phone SUCKS
By: Lee
October 1, 2006 @ 5:26 PM22ppm10>
I’ve had this phone for about 3 weeks and already its frozen up more than 15 times. The screen sometimes turns all white and doesnt work. The camera doesn’t have flash, so it harder to take good pictures. It scratches easily. I would recommend people to NOT get this phone. It is a uses piece of junk.

Poor Craftsmanship
By: Samantha
September 22, 2006 @ 3:12 PM06ppm9>
I have had the PEBL for 7 months now and I am fed up! I am on my 4th phone. My first PEBL froze up and reset it’s self all the time, it also lost all noise functions, it would only vibrate. I returned it and recieved my second PEBL which had a lifting main screen. I guess the glue came undone. Poor craftmanship if you ask me. My following PEBL had a loose screw on the screen face. I tried to screw it back in with no luck. This phone also froze up and reset all the time. So I returned the PEBL again to recieve my fourth and final phone! I am returning this one for the same un-gluing issue on the screen and recieving a Samsung t509, hopefully with better luck. I’d also like to add that the camera on the PEBL SUCKS!!This phone looks cool and has a neat slide and flip thing going on, but the way it looks is not worth all of it’s malfunctions, esecially for its expensive price.

Very nice phone but not worth it!

September 11, 2006 @ 6:58 PM28ppm9>
This phone is really attractive on the outside, i also liked the way it opened. I had this phone for a week now, and i think the speaker gave up, sound doesnt come out of it anymore even when its at full volume. I need to call t-mobile to get it replaced. The phone has frozen a few times. The camera is much worse than my old v330 that i still have in good condition even after two years. I have dropped it more than i can remember, i got water in it, and sand, and it still works better then the PEBL. the camera is more clear and it actually has more memory than the PEBL. Whats more depressing is that it can only record for up to 15 seconds at a time…. WHy dont they let you record away all your memory if you want? That is just wrong.anyway here are my ratings from one to ten:
Appearance- 10 (v330 – 5)
Camera – 4 (v330 – 9)
Memory – 3(5mb) (v330 – 5)(6.3mb)
Battery Life – 9 (v330 – 8)
Response Speed – 5 (v330 – 9)
Sound Quality – 5 (v330 – 8)
PEBL Price: $250 (v330 Price: free w/plan)
PEBL – Had it for 1 week – never dropped, speaker no longer works, froze about 4 or 5 times.
V330 – Had it for 2 years – froze about 10 times, soaked in water, buried in sand, dropped at least 50 times. works perfectly

Motorola PEBL
By: G.Najarian
April 18, 2006 @ 6:09 AM08pam4>
I have been using the Motorola PEBL that I purchased from my local T Mobile dealer it has frozen several times when trying to end a call, only way to release it was to take battery out. The AIM instant message feature sometimes takes long to startup. The camera takes decent pictures but lacks a flash. Video record feature is some what unclear when trying to view. The battery standby is far better then I have seen on most Motorola phones. I had notice a problem while using the bluetooth feature sometimes the phone also locks up and sometimes would not recognize the device. I had no problems learning how to slide open the phone.
