Okay, so I used to text people all the time but I just got so tired of it. The only real reason you need a phone is for limited calling use, not texting. I’m 14 and I don’t mind this phone. I think it’s cool. Shinny, small, unique and it’s good as a work phone, not an everyday phone.

verizon shity razor

March 11, 2009 @ 11:58 AM05pam3>
I got my razor in May of 08 and in December my phone was acting funny so I went to the Verizon store and they told me to call Verizon and they were going to send me a new razor. so they did and on Monday my friend called me and it went to voice mail, but my phone was in my hand. I called Verizon and they were going to send me a new Razor and I said no, send me a gift card so I can pick a phone I want, so they are. The funny thing is me, my mom and my brother both got Razor the same day and they have never had anything like this, but my friend has a razor with T-mobile and he said Verizon always has the crappy Razor. I would never buy the Verizon Moto Razor.

My Razor has been skipped across a parking lot by me throwing it, and yeah the battery came off. But after putting it back together it worked fine. I have never had any problems out of it and I’ve had it since Dec. 2006. My brother also got the Razor and never had a problem with it.

I have had many cell phones, but this is the worst cell phone I have ever owned. The battery dies after six hours and the phone is made very cheaply. It cost me $53.00 for another battery, but it still only lasts six hours. Motorola is in bad shape, I wonder why.

March 26, 2008 @ 10:53 AM38pam3>
Do not buy the Verizon Motorola Pink Razor phone! It has a mind of its own. It turns off without warning. If you put the phone on speaker, whoever is on the other end usually complains about it being spotty-as in they can’t hear the entire conversation-it cuts in and out. I also agree with others who had problems with the phone not being able to hold a charge for more than a day. The most recent and most obnoxious problem is that it turned off without warning mid conversation and refuses to turn back on. If you hit the END button it will flash the Verizon logo, however it leaves as quickly as it appears, and is not working anymore. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS JUNKIE PHONE!!!!!

March 11, 2008 @ 11:05 AM53pam3>
I was so excited when I first got my RAZR cell phone. However I had no idea of the quality of the product I just purchased. My cell phone has a habit of deleting my inbox without me telling it to and refuses to send every other text message (even with FULL service) so I have to turn it off and back on. It is also slower than my computer from the early 1990s and likes to shut off randomly. I had 230 photos saved, and when I tried to take another photo, it said it the memory was full. Fair enough. Yet after deleting 28 photos, the memory was still somehow 100 percent full. When I tried to delete my outbox, it deleted half and then doubled the rest of my sent messages. I hope it breaks so my parents will get me a new cell phone.

If a person asked what phone I prefer, it would be hands down the Motorola Razr V3C. Great service everywhere! There are some technical problems that bother me pretty badly. For example, this phone locks outbox messages to where they cannot be deleted. MAJOR downfall because I need all the space I can get when texting… So that sucks. Also, my screen messes up at times. But other than those two problems I can see nothing wrong with this phone.

Multiple replacements needed!
By: Glenda
December 28, 2007 @ 4:28 PM28ppm12>
This is the worst phone I have ever had. I upgrading my mobile IM and it caused the phone to crash twice. I have had this phone replaced 6 times under warranty. Each time it just crashed, the screen turned white and stayed that way. I am now eligible for an upgrade and I won’t be getting another one or anything else by Motorola. This phone is out of warranty now. Sometimes the screen display is backwards, sometimes half the screen is white so I can’t see what I am dialing or texting, and other times the screen is jumbled. Verizon’s excuse is that it’s like a little computer and sometimes needs rebooted. Well my computer doesn’t have nearly as many problems as this thing. Oh, and when it crashed all those 6 times, I lost everything in my phone: contact list, ring tones. I had to re-enter everything in the replacement phone and redownload my ringtone then call Verizon so I wouldn’t be recharged for it. What a PAIN!

THE WORST PHONE EVER!!!
By: Tyler
December 14, 2007 @ 10:53 AM17pam12>
This was the worst phone I have ever used. I was fooled by the superfluous marketing and sleek design that coaxed my little brain into thinking this was the phone to get. Oh how I was fooled. The operating system that came with it was SUPER SLOW; so slow that it would take several seconds between screens. Motorola soon ‘fixed’ this by allowing me and the many others to travel to a Verizon store to let them upgrade the firmware which took them about an hour. I was relieved at the thought. Though this sped it up considerably, it still is quite lagging – very annoying. This mixed with the extremely unintuitive non raised buttons on the key pad and text messaging inbox and controls made me loathe this phone even more. I have been counting down the days till I can get a new phone. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A MOTOROLA PRODUCT AGAIN, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I’ve had my phone for just a little over a year. All of the buttons on the keypad have broken or fallen off! The center button is just a cheap sticker! My phone does not hold charge at all. My phone also flips out and opens up my text messages and goes through them randomly at times. It will also not ring for certain numbers which is very frustrating. Overall I would not recommend this phone.

Ok, so I know a few people have not had good luck with the MotorazrV3C. I however, have had better luck with it than the Pantech PN-218 I’ve owned since March of this year. I recently acquired my V3C, switched it over to my cell phone provider and love how it is able to do exactly what I want it to. The only downside I see is that you can only videotape for 15 seconds. This is fine if you don’t mind starting the video again, and again, and again to get something as special as Christmas or your child’s first Christmas play.

This phone is horrible. It was okay for the first 2 months or so. Then, my buttons started peeling off, and the phone would freeze and the screen would turn white. The only thing to fix it would be to put it on the charger, and sometimes that don’t even work so I have to take out the battery. And even when I do that, it still doesn’t always want to turn back on. It dies really fast, and says it’s charged when it isn’t. I’ll leave it charging all day, and it still dies very quickly. Let’s see what else….it also drops my calls all the time. It’s so annoying! And when I answer the phone, sometimes it likes to randomly put people on speakerphone, and I can’t get them off it. Even if I turn off the phone, in order to make it stop I have to take out the battery and wait 10 minutes or so. I’ve only had this phone for not even 8 months and there’s so many things that go wrong with it…don’t get one…believe me.

This is by far the worst phone i have ever owned. It has short battery life, terrible picture quality, and that’s not all folks. Now it shuts off in the middle of a call and the screen turns white. And all you can do to get it to work again is remove the battery, replace the battery, then plug in the charger, in that order, and that order only. And if your lucky, it will turn on. By the way, at this point your battery WILL be dead, even if you have just charged it for 12 hours continuously. Yes this is a very finincky phone my friends. Oh, and when you plug in your DEAD phone to the charger, it usually takes about twenty minutes, and then, magically, it says……..charge completed. CHARGE COMPLETED???????????????? You have GOT to be kidding me right? Please do not waste your money on this piece of junk.

When I first purchased my new Razr I was amazed with the picture quality, and loved its sleek look. About one month later the problems started. The screen would shut off or just turn white. It would hang up in the middle of calls..One year later I am now on my 4th replacement (Since Verizon is so damn cheap they wont just give me another brand of phone) Any new razr owners out there be careful everything about them is very very very fragile, screens and all. Now that I think about it just put it back in the box and admire it, because it will break soon.

My phone has been having problems with the ring tones for a while. It will work when I download the ring tone, but when my phone shuts off because the battery dies or I turn my phone off, when I turn it back on. My ring tones play, but when I set them for a ring tone they don’t seem to work. Only 1 out of 5 of my ring tones work so I sent it to Verizon and they said that they fixed it, but all I could tell was different was that it looked like they polished my phone and got some dot stuck on my screen now that will not come off.

I switched to Verizon last week, flew to NY this weekend with new motorola RAZR V3m phone. It went totally psycho on me!!! First, I would make a call and couldn’t hear it ring or the other person talking yet they could hear everything going on at my end. The second day my son told me that my phone was calling him all night on it’s own(it was in my purse….wasn’t touching it.) I decided to just turn it off…couldn’t! It started switching around all of the menu options on it’s own. I finally took the battery out. When I found a Verizon store, I put the battery back in and it worked fine. The girl there said that hers does it too. That it’s technology and not perfect!!! Well, I had a sanyo razor at Sprint before….never did that. Going to the store tomorrow…..never again getting a motorola phone again.

Poor User Interface with bugs
By: david youn
September 19, 2006 @ 12:59 PM02ppm9>
I have to say that the Motorola Razr V3M is the worst phone that I have used so far. It has the following problems:
1). Contact list
In Contacts, we can have our contacts in “Groups.” I like to use the “groups” to categorize my phone book so that I can find the name quickly. In each group, the stupid phone only allow up to 10 names. What even worse is that I cannot make a call from the name in each group. You can only send txt/pic messages from the group list. So, stupid!!
2). Alarm: if you set an alarm clock, there is no indication on the LCD that will show the alarm is set unless the alarm time is within a couple of hours of the current time. For example, if you set an alarm for next morning before you to bed the night before, the alarm icon wonât show up. But, it will show up sometime over the night when the current time is close to the time of the alarm! What a stupid design is this?!
This will be the last Motolara phone that Iâll ever buy.

How much do I hate this phone?
By: R Johnson
September 12, 2006 @ 7:10 AM58pam9>
-User Interface inscrutable, display can’t be read in the sun
- volume is WAY to low for use in the city (and cannot be turned up)
- talk to someone else who is also using a Verizon razr (i.e. my wife) and this problem is compounded exponentially
- constantly accidentally turning off ringer just by pulling out of my pocket
- and turning ON speaker phone by accident (you can almost not take it out AND open it to answer without one of these two things happening)
- speakerphone is on the other side of phone from mouthpiece i.e. if you have it open in the car face up so you can be heard (which wonât happen anyway) you canât hear the caller
- buttons too small for my fingers
- voice dial is a hierarchical menu – three voice commands just to make a call (at least one of which will be misinterpreted or not heard at all) (on my old phone I had to train it, but if I said “Fred” it would call Fred)
not ergonomic â try taking your hand of this for a second while talking and it will fall
- Verizon ring styles are terrible, and you have to pay for anything else
- I thought I didnât care about the camera, but when I do want to use it, I canât see if the picture is any good, pay money to send it to yourself just to seeâ you canât use Phonetools â and the pictures are bad 80% of the time â often miss a shot anyway because the buttons are too small
That is just what comes to mind off the top of my head, but there are other bad things too.

Had the VC3 for 4 months and already been replaced by Verizon once. Drops incoming calls frequently and fails to answer calls often. Difficult to hear, even with speaker phone. Can’t view displays in high lighted areas or sun. Outside display can’t be changed from the Verizon red background. Prior LG VX4400 was great but can’t get parts as it’s 2 years old. Very unhappy with the VC3.

September 5, 2006 @ 6:04 PM53ppm9>
I got the Razr v3c about 2 months ago and have been mostly happy with it. I have had no problems with reception or dropping calls, but I never have had a phone with Verizon with those problems. I like the look of the phone – and that it’s small enough to slide into a pocket, althoug it’s very uncomfortable to use without a headset. The volume is OK – most of the time I don’t have a problem. The ringer volume is very good. The camera is much worse than I expected – no flash, about a 2 second delay to take the picture where if you move it is blurry. The bluetooth works well, although it eats the battery. Overall the battery life is not as good as I had anticipated – it’s not bad, just not as good as it claims. I don’t like that it doesn’t have a calander that you can set to alert you to different events – I found that very handy on my last phone. All in all I do like the Razr, but it’s not my favorite phone I’ve had.

Nice looking phone - horrible UI
By: Nunjo
May 18, 2006 @ 6:36 PM28ppm5>
Motorola (with my limited experience), has always had horrible UI issues. I had an LG VX6000, and I loved the UI, but it definitely didn’t look and perform as sharp as the Razr.
The main problem with the UI, is the inavailability of shortcuts. Yes, I know, there are some shortcuts on the arrow keys. But tell me, if you like grouping all your contacts, when you press the “contacts” shortcut, what should you get? The list of ALLLLL your contacts, or your groups? Of course, you should get your groups, but you do not. You get ALLL your contacts. I have over 100 phone numbers and it would be RIDICULOUS if I had to press Menu>DOWN>DOWN>OK> just to access my groups. And that’s not the worst part. The absolute worst part is that they let you only group 10 numbers to each group. W…T…F??? I have more than 10 in-laws. I have more than 10 family members. I have more than 10 work / business contacts. Are they stupid or something? Sorry folks, I’m not going to have 2 – 3 “MISC” categories to rummage through when I’m looking for one of the (more than 10) restaurants I know. That is moronic, and I would like to powder my palm with baby powder, and personally pimp slap the moron that signed off on the interface, leaving a white hand print on their face.
I am going to give this phone back in reluctance, because the sound quality is superior, the style / look is fantastic, but the UI is a friggin’ efficiency NIGHTMARE.
Oh, and WTF kind of vibration mode is that???? I barely feel it at all! And for some reason, I don’t understand why my phone is not ringing. I set my ringer on the side buttons to the highest setting, then I use my wife’s cell phone to call me, and it vibrates only! These settings are out of the box, and that is completely ridiculous if I have to make it so that the phone rings. It should be that way by default, and would want to have to change it the other way. What complete morons are at motorola. I’m thoroughly hurting on this decision because I KNOW I cannot use this great looking / performing phone as a phone that will help me in productivity / efficiency. It is just looks, and sound quality. Everything else is really that bad, that it offsets the good – for me anyway.

A real dissappointment
By: Pete
May 17, 2006 @ 5:06 AM04pam5>
I’m on my 4th Razr phone in a month. People can’t hear me if I use the speakerphone, the screen has locked up repeatedly, and the battery dies unexpectedly. I’ve also had two of the plastic belt clips break in 4 weeks time. The only good thing about this phone is the size and appearance. The software is cumbersome, and the quality is absolutely terrible. I have 2 friends who bought their razr’s about the same time as me, and they are experiencing similar problems. These phones have a year warranty from the retailer, and after that you could certainly contact Motorola directly with your complaints. I will never buy a Motorola phone again.

Razor

I aswell droped a good plan from Bell to get this #$^! phone. I am on my third razor now (after returning two). The first one I bought the keypads/numbers did not lit up… I couldnt see anything when I was dialing in the dark… Then the second one I bought would freeze on me sometimes, the screen would just freeze and I had to take the battery out and put it back in to make it work, that was a pain. And now on my third… I cant return the phone to the store anymore because my 30 day return policy is over, but I would. Now my screen is not as clear as it used to be, it has thick lines going horizontally from the top to the bottom. Not to mention the battery meter is messed up, sometimes it does not show that the battery is low (it shows a full one) it just shuts off on me after killin the battery. I absolutely hate this phone, it was not worth my $399 when I first bought it not to mention this thing went down to $99 now with a 3 year plan. Even now for $99 I’d not purchase this piece crap.
The only good thing about this phone is the look of it, nothing else.

Razr V3 with bluetooth H500 headset
By: Gary Veino
March 10, 2006 @ 1:55 PM44ppm3>
I recently acquired this phone with the “bluetooth H500 headset. Yes it is kind of nifty looking, but as with the complaints voiced by other purchasers, the battery time is very limited. It is also unfortunate that I had gave up my old digital plan “with per second billing” through bell mobility to go get this phone which is per minute billing. The display is nice, but I don’t find it any more user friendly than my old samsung. I am from Ontario Canda and there is legislation before the books to outlaw cell phone use while on the road. It is for that reason that I chose the phone because I heard so much about The “bluetooth” wireless connection. You can imagine my disappointment when my h500 headset won’t work very well with my new phone. The phone (or the headset) keeps dropping the connection meanwhile, with the bluetooth activated you can’t receive any phone calls…great. I also tried a replacement H500 and it was even worse. I had to have the tech at the cell shop re-program the phone. You can’t even buy a cheaper headset with a cord because there is no jack for the cord. My mobility provider says that I should try the next “bluetooth” headphone for only $60.00 more…now there’s a deal. I told him that I sure wish I could get my old phone back because on per minute billing I probably used up my
whole contract trying to get the “bluetooth” to work. My prediction is this: This phone will be discontinued within months. Unfortunately I am hung with it until my next upgrade which is in 1.5 years. My recommendation is for anybody considering this phone do not get it. My reason for getting it, which was the bluetooth technology is a non issue now and if it is features you are after, there is a lot more out there than what is offered by this model. I just hope that the legislation to outlaw cell phones while in the car is delayed for 1.5 years. Please feel free to email me if you have any other opinion.

Great new phone

I bought this phone almost 2 weeks ago, and I have had nothing but good things to say about it. First of all, let me start out with the design- killer as we all know. The phone quality is good, the colors are crisp, and the luminescent keys are way cool. But the thing that I was most impressed with was the availability of features on the phone. A 1.3 megapixel camera, video capture, speaker phone, calculator/alarm clock/calender, etc. There isn’t much to complain about besides the 3 hours of talk time. But since I charge my phone every 1-2 days when I’m sleeping, it doesn’t affect me in the slightest. Overall, this is the best phone I’ve ever owned.

Good Design

Very good phone. This is the CDMA version compatible with Verizon’s network. Cingular’s is GSM and therefore they are two completely different phones. Because of the differences in technology in the CDMA version Verizon’s phone is slightly thicker and wider, additionally the battery life is about half. (Reason for this is the GSM network’s phones can lower power consumption if they have a strong signal where CDMA phones like verizon’s do not have this capability).
I’m still very happy with this phone. Bluetooth OBEX profiles can be unlocked without hacking the phone, out of the box, contrary to Verizon’s claims.
It’s a thin, fashionable phone with a good set of features unless you’re the mobile enthusist that needs their phone to do everything.

Nice phone. Battery time sucks

I got this phone the day it launched on line. I love it but it has already locked up on me several times and the battery seems to be very poor. Over Christmas I compared it directly to my brother-in-laws Cingular Razr and noticed a few things. The battery life for the Verizon version was half. The V- is also a bit thicker if you set them both down on a flat surface. The V- camera is better. It’s still a great phone but I’m charging mine every two to three days. I’m calling V- tonight to see what the deal is…

Basic phome use
By: John

I just use my phone for phone calls. I am not interested in all of the net stuff and photos
While I love the look and feel of the Verizon RAZR ,I was disappointed with some basic phone functions.
1) voice activation – gone is training the phone to recognize your particular names with your unique pronouncations. Now it just guesses what you are saying. I say ” Call Mickey” and it comes back with ” do you mean MCI ? “.. I prefer thr training method.
2) speed dialing – I had the seller transfer my numbers from old phone . My assigned numbers changed on the new phone. Changing them back is not easy. The old system let me switch them around alot easier.
3) voice mail – old phone – assigned button took me right to voice mail. Razr suggest I use my #1 speed dial position to make this connection. Why should I have to give up my limited one touch positions ?
I suppose its great with phone offering all new features but why do all of these choices have to be in my face when I select different menus. There should be customized menu choices and keys. That camera key would make a good voicemail key.
I would like to have the grand kids photos on the display but it seems that i have to pay for a service to get them.

*Update 12/21/2005 – There is a Stereo Headset available for this phone that connects to the phones USB interface. It is available on Verizon’s website. The Bluetooth headset is 1.1 compatible and does not support Stereo sound however.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

There IS a stereo headset!

Way to not research your review. You CAN get a wired stereo headset for this phone; it plugs into the USB port. Verizon sells it, or you can find it lots of other places.
I always suspected reviews on DT were just “fluff;” now I know.

unable to change the loud, red, verizon interface. no computer interface with phone; must use network to send/receive anything (at additional cost). no bluetooth isync support with macintosh computers, even though this model is officially supported by Apple. basically, this phone, while really nice, is horribly crippled.
