Great Pocket Camera!

The Panasonic DMC-FX30 is a great little pocket camera. I was attracted to this camera for the 28mm Leica lens and I have not been dissapointed. But like all small digi-cams there are limitations. Like all digi-cams I have tried (and trust me, there are a lot of them from all makers) you need to keep it at ISO 100 or 200. Anything beyond that will be very grainy. ISO 800 and up are a joke. I keep it set on “Natural” mode. This reduces the in camera sharpening ( use unsharpen mask in Photoshop if you need more sharpening) and grain a lot. In fact, you can get very, very impressive results this way. It is best used outside, but the indoor flash shots are great within the limited flash range. The macro feature is great as well! Keeping in mind what this camera is, a pocket go anywhere camera for snapshots, it is one of the best I have ever used!
