  1. Best unit for the price

By far the best unit for the price (Purchased for $299.99 during a Best Buy sale event). This system delivers great sound that completely fills my average size living room (20×20). The wireless is a major plus for this price. Other wireless units I found cost at least $200 more. Please note that the rear speakers do have wires that connects to a wireless port (a small box-shaped devise about 10″ x 6″) which then communucates wirelessly to the main unit. So “wireless” in this case means that you don’t have to worry about running (and hiding) wires from the main unit across the room to the rear speakers. This is perfect for us since the wireless port is hidden between the wall and our couch (you know, the place you never vaccum), out of sight, out of mind. Another important thing to note is that the wireless port must be at least 6′ away from your home’s wireless router in order to prevent issues with internet connectivity. You can also purchase an optional wireless speaker for another room (i.e. patio, poolside, bathroom so my wife does not have to blast the radio while showering anymore, etc.) which is really cool! The speaker stands that comes with the unit are build for the front L and R speakers although you can easily modify it for the rear speakers. You can’t screw the rear speakers to the stand but I used a couple of 3M 2-sided tape and I was good to go. Lastly, the iPod dock is great and it displays all of my downloaded info on the 50′ LCD which is perfect when playing DJ during parties. The only downside to this is that your entire song list is open for jokes (Cotton-eye Joe by Rednex always gets a lot of laughs). Although the sound from this unit is best for movies, most listeners should agree that it is also good for music. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to everybody.

Purchased for $329.99 from a local Department Store. Recently installed with a new 50″ Plasma also Panasonic. First time to power on the unit the magazine number 1 was stuck in the back of the unit. I took the unit back and they exchanged the unit for another one. I took that home, hooked it up and it worked fine. I only watched about 10 min of a dvd to test it. Last night I rented a dvd. Took it home and it will not read the disc. Tried an audio CD, still wouldn’t read the disc. Customer service is a joke. I’ll be taking this COMPLETE unit (speakers included) back for a refund. 2 Defective units is enough for me.

Im planning to buy this hometheater. However, I’ve read reviews saying that I might have issues with my wireless network. My router is in the same room as the hometheater…
