I have had the iPhone. Great for music and internet. Bad for phone use. I have the Black Berry Curve 8310. Bad for internet use and ok for texting. Super on email. But I needed a non-PDA phone. So I did get the Matrix. The Blue one, since I have heard of issues with the black and green version. The quality of the video is not as bad as mentioned in the official review on here. The internet, once you get used to it, is very decent considering it’s just a cell phone, not a PDA. The call quality is much better then the iPhone (both the original and the 3g). It’s nice to have the qwerty keyboard spread out. The BB Curve is too cramped. Sure the qwerty board is only and inch or so deep. But the Curve is not much deeper.

I realize the camera is only a 1.3 and you do not get a flash. But it works well and sends off very fast in 3g areas. Texting is a breeze and the phone may look thick (it is) however it is not heavy compared to other phones like the iPhone.

I know touch screens are in. Until you drop it and the glass breaks. Also the keys are somewhat flat on the Matrix. But have you touched the keys on the iPhone? Nothing but smooth glass. The keys on the Curve are bumpy but if you have fat fingers forget it.

It’s a good phone and considering the price it’s a super deal. I’d give it a 9 out of 10 for price, looks and ease of use.
