I recently purchased a new pair of Paradigm Studio 40 speakers, as I was looking for a sub to compliment the speakers, all I could find was big square boxes. Thinking were am I going to put this awkward piece of equipment since I was limited for space due to the size of my living room. As I happened to look over I spotted this little black sub thinking “Is that ever small”. I asked the dealer what it was as i chuckled. Well when he turned that sub on I was blown away! I thought he was trying to trick me and was playing some other sub, but not the case. I purchased this sub, I brought it home and I was blown away. I can’t believe the sound coming out of this little sub and it took up very little room. In conclusion, don’t judge a book by it’s cover!!

I have them for some years now, and for some reasons and little kids, I have to put them back in their package, and just yesterday I play with them (the speakers) again. I’m not satisfied with my very old amps (my receivers has broke) so I will find a new receivers to appreciate the speakers, oh and I also have the mini monitor sitting somewhere waiting to be paired again.

I have owned my Monitor 7 (V.5) for a little while now and they seem to sound better every week.
The clarity is outstanding. The value is exceptional. Plenty of bass. Incredibly efficient speakers. I use an audiophile grade 75W per channel amp, which is plenty! The neighbours do not complain as the sound is clean even when driven hard.
I have continued to audition other speakers of a similar caliber and although there are many wonderful speaker manufacturers around I have never been disappointed with my choice to go with Paradigm.
Be careful of the AMP/Speaker combination, as the Monitors reproduce clearly and beautifully what they are fed. Also be very careful of the room treatment.
BTW I listen mostly to jazz and orchestral.

Try V.3

I have had V.3 Monitor 7’s for about 2 years now. I love them. I have heard that the new versions are supposed to be more efficient. But at what cost? The M-7’s with the Servo 15 will shake your floor; don’t forget what the fronts are for. The fronts are for mid and top end. If you want bass out of your fronts, don’t get the 7’s, go for the Monitor 100’s, or the S-8’s. Big bang for the buck, 7’s with a sub shakes my walls man. Yeah, it is expensive, but if you want to shake it, and I mean everything in your house, get the Servo 15, it takes some time to set up and break in but it is worth it.

Don't believe the hype.

At the time of this writing I’ve owned a pair of Monitor 7 speakers for three weeks. I’m not very happy with them. For some reason they’ve received more praise than they deserve. To my ears they sound very unmusical, with absolutely no warmth at all. The midrange is the worst, sounding very hard, cold and technical. The bass is clean and tight but hardly sufficient. A subwoofer is a requirement. All the reviews I’ve read put an emphasis on the great value these speakers are for the price. This to me is irrelevant because if the speakers don’t sound good, who cares? If you’re looking for smooth sounding musical speakers that sound good with all kinds of music I suggest you look elsewhere.
