Shows won't play DVDs

We have a number of problems with this unit trying to play DVD. I have some standard DVDs from Netflix that can be played on other DVD players. On this unit, after inserting the DVD we get the message “Please eject this disc. Pleyback feature may not be available on this disc.” My sony DVD player has not problem reading the disc.

Help remove rated block

I have bought one dvd/vcr combo refurbished. Guess what, it has a block for rated movies and I don’t know the pass word to remove it. Tell me please how to remove the pass word so I can watch rated movies, or I’m gonna die!
