I’ve been using this dvd player for about 2½ years by now and the price in mind this is a very fine dvd player!

I’ve had no problems at all with it and i have it connected up via HDMI to my 40″ Sony Bravia LCD TV and the picture quality is fine for my use. I think the picture looks fine the price in mind.

    I recommend it!

Despite what people are saying, this is a good DVD player and I have never had any problems with it whatsoever. If you wanted a fancy one with all the bells and whistles, then you should have not bought a budget one under 100 bucks.

Bought this in late 2006 I believe. Solid player but is very slow to power on, does not support the entire CODEX that you can play on your PC with VLC nor does it support higher res avi files. There must be newer versions of DVD players that have upgradable CODEXs and memory slots. This DVD player is dated. Keep looking.

I brought mine with a total Pioneer HDTV set up which is BRILLIANT but the DV 490V player is horrible. At first, I first thought it was the DVDs.

I bought this DVD player with my home theater and HDTV. Unfortunately while watching an average length film, the player starts to overheat causing the picture to skip and eventually freeze around the 80 minute mark. I strongly discourage the purchase of this unit.

I just got this and I’m really pleased. For a DVD player sub 100.00, I really thinkyou can;t go wrong here. The remote control is a joke, huge, clumsy and old-school. I use my universal on it and it works fine.
